Desolous Legion

The Desolous Legion, also known by its numerical designation as the 44th, represented a legion of Sith troopers within the ranks of the Sith Eternal, a dark side Sith cult. This legion, comprising five thousand troopers, participated in the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance, a war that concluded with the Sith Eternal's defeat at the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY. The legion's name, a reference to the ancient Sith Lord Desolous, held significance only for the Sith Eternal's members, as its history remained concealed from the rest of the galaxy.

Description

Serving as the 44th, the Desolous Legion was a legion belonging to the Sith Eternal's army, a cult devoted to the dark side that venerated the Sith and maintained its base on Exegol, a throneworld situated in the Unknown Regions. Each Sith Eternal legion received a numerical designation alongside the name of a Sith Lord from ancient times, with the 44th being named after Desolous. The rationale behind these names remained exclusive knowledge to the Sith Eternal cultists, as the details were kept secret from the rest of the galaxy.

This legion was comprised of five thousand Sith troopers, who functioned as infantry soldiers sourced from cultist offspring, former Galactic Empire personnel, and children initially drafted into the First Order but identified for their potential and subsequently disappeared. The legion's troopers were further organized into squadrons consisting of ten individuals, including standard infantry and aerial Sith Jetpack Troopers. As members of the Desolous Legion, these Sith troopers donned Sith trooper armor in crimson red and wielded either ST-W48 blaster rifles or FWMB-10B repeating blasters, while Sith Jetpack Troopers utilized NJP-900 integrated jetpacks and F-11ABA heavy blaster cannons.

History

The Desolous Legion saw action during the war fought between the First Order and the Resistance, spanning from 34 ABY to 35 ABY. The Sith Eternal military and the organization itself were defeated during the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY, where a combined force of the Resistance and a Citizens' Fleet originating from across the galaxy triumphed over Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith, and his entire Final Order forces, including the Desolous Legion.
