Andeddu Legion

The Andeddu Legion, also known as the 5th, was a legion of Sith troopers serving the Sith Eternal cult. This legion consisted of a total of five thousand troopers and saw action during the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance, a war that ended with the defeat of the Sith Eternal's military at the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY. The significance of the legion's name was a secret to most of the galaxy, understood only by the cultists of the Sith Eternal, as it referred to Andeddu, an ancient Sith Lord.

Description

The Andeddu Legion consisted of 5,000 Sith troopers (pictured).

The 5th Legion, the Andeddu Legion, was a legion that served as part of the Sith Eternal's army. The Sith Eternal was a cult devoted to the dark side and the Sith, operating from their throneworld of Exegol located in the Unknown Regions. Each legion within the Sith Eternal's forces was identified by a number and named after an ancient Sith Lord; in the case of the 5th, that Sith Lord was Andeddu. The names of the legions held a special meaning that was only understood by the Sith Eternal's cultists, as the history behind them was concealed from the rest of the galaxy.

This legion was composed of five thousand Sith troopers and Sith Jetpack Troopers—soldiers who were the product of cultist offspring, former members of the Galactic Empire, and children who had been identified as having potential, then conscripted and disappeared from the ranks of the First Order. The troopers were organized into squadrons of ten, with a mix of standard troopers and aerial soldiers in each. As a Sith trooper legion, the Andeddu Legion's troopers wore Sith trooper armor in a distinctive crimson red and carried either ST-W48 blaster rifles or FWMB-10B repeating blasters. The Sith Jetpack Troopers, on the other hand, were equipped with NJP-900 integrated jetpacks and F-11ABA heavy blaster cannons.

History

The Andeddu Legion saw action during the war between the First Order and the Resistance, a conflict that spanned from 34 ABY to 35 ABY. The Sith Eternal and their forces met their end at the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY, where a combined force of Resistance fighters and a Citizens' Fleet from across the galaxy triumphed over Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith, and his entire forces, including the Andeddu Legion.

Behind the scenes

The Andeddu Legion was initially referenced in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, a book released in 2019 and written by Pablo Hidalgo.
