Jedi General Aayla Secura commanded a task force in the Republic Navy's Open Circle Armada during the Clone Wars against the Separatist Alliance.
Early during the Clone Wars, Jedi General Aayla Secura was in command of a task force of Venator-class Star Destroyers, including her flagship Liberty. While located in the Quell system, the task force participated in the Battle of Quell against a Separatist Alliance naval contingent of four Munificent-class star frigates led by Commander TF-1726. Engaged in Quell's atmosphere, the task force lost two Venator-class Star Destroyers while Secura's flagship was critically damaged. As B2-RP super battle droids were sent to board the remaining cruiser, Jedi General Anakin Skywalker was dispatched to rescue Secura and her forces.
Skywalker's fleet, including the Resolute, arrived in the midst of the battle. After using LAAT/i gunships to board Secura's flagship, the surviving Galactic Republic forces made their way to a Consular-class cruiser that was docked in the ventral hangar. After a rough escape which resulted in Skywalker being injured and the total destruction of the flagship, the cruiser was engaged by vulture starfighters and accidentally had its hyperdrive activated, resulting in the group leaving the battle.
The task force was led by Jedi General Aayla Secura, and featured the 327th Star Corps, Secura's ground unit that was led by Clone Commander Bly. Aayla Secura's task force was comprised of three Venator-class Star Destroyers, all of which were destroyed during the Battle of Quell, and carried V-19 Torrent starfighters.
Aayla Secura's task force first appeared, albeit unidentified, in the 2009 Star Wars: The Clone Wars season one episode "Jedi Crash," and was identified as a task force in Aayla Secura's Databank entry on StarWars.com. "The Grand Army of the Republic" encyclopedia incorrectly says Skywalker managed to save much of Secura's task force during the Battle of Quell.
