Sabé's shuttle was a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle of the Galactic Empire. Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, Commander Sabé utilized the shuttle to rescue the Sith Lord Darth Vader, who had lost control of his Force powers due to a Force Wave and breached the hull of his flagship, the Executor. However, Vader's erratic Force powers continued once he was brought on board, damaging the shuttle as Sabé traveled to an astronomical object where sentient life was not at risk. Vader was thrown out as the shuttle fell through the atmosphere, with Sabé jumping out to rescue him before the ship crashed into the ocean.
After Sabé failed a test posed to her by Vader, who threw her back into the sea, the Sith claimed he would regain control, using the Force to lift the wreckage of the shuttle out of the ocean and placing it onto the shore. A of humans, taking advantage of Vader's state, attempted to kill him, firing upon the Sith from their vessel. Vader, having built a electrostaff and equipped an energy shield, lifted the wreckage of the shuttle with the Force to shield himself, defeating his attackers shortly afterward.
Sabé's shuttle was a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle of the Abecederian line. The shuttle was equipped with an engine and a hyperdrive, and its cockpit held at least two seats. It was also programmed with a number of jump coordinates.
The Lambda-class shuttle that would become Sabé's shuttle was in the service of the Galactic Empire's navy during the Imperial Era. Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, the Sith Lord Darth Vader, while aboard his flagship, the Executor, lost control of his Force powers as a result of a Force Wave. Vader tore apart a corridor on the Executor, breaching the hull and being sucked out into space. Commander Sabé, former handmaiden of Queen Padmé Amidala who was serving Vader and the Empire, having witnessed the Sith Lord's predicament from aboard the Executor, took the shuttle out to rescue him. With two Prowler 1000 seeker droids on board, Sabé flew the shuttle to Vader's position outside the Executor and lowered the boarding ramp so that the probe droids could retrieve the Sith.
The droids brought Vader aboard, but his errant Force powers had not ceased; Vader crushed the two droids and began to tear the shuttle apart. Sabé pleaded Vader to try and control his powers for a minute as she engaged the hyperdrive. The shuttle, still falling apart, entered hyperspace, emerging at an astronomical object that Sabé had chosen to allow Vader to regain control of his powers in an area devoid of sentient life. The disintegrating shuttle careened towards the astronomical object's surface, leaving a trail of debris and burning as it entered the atmosphere. As the shuttle fell apart, Vader was thrown outside, and Sabé equipped a winged backpack, jumping out to rescue him. The pair and the wrecked shuttle, blackened from the heat and having lost much from its wings, crashed into the ocean.
After emerging onto the shore, Vader turned his powers against Sabé to test whether she would choose power or suffering as a result of hate. Sabé, however, refused to hate, rejecting the question; in response, Vader threw her into the sea with his next wave of power. Claiming that although he was currently not in control, he would be, Vader used the Force to lift the wreckage of the shuttle out of the water and deposit it on the shore. Vader entered the shuttle's cockpit, where he constructed an electrostaff.
Shortly afterward, a of humans, having learned of Vader's plight and the events aboard the Executor, attempted to take advantage of the Sith's apparent weakness to kill him. Vader, equipped with his staff and an energy shield, stood on the shore beside the wrecked shuttle as the group's X4 Gunship approached. As the gunship opened fire, Vader used the Force to lift the wreckage of the Lambda-class shuttle and used it to shield himself from the incoming lasers. The blasts pierced through the other side of the shuttle, but did not harm Vader, who destroyed his assailants' ship with a beam from his staff shortly afterward.
Aboard the Executor, Admiral Firmus Piett reported the disappearance of Vader and Sabé aboard the shuttle to Emperor Palpatine. The Emperor commanded Grand Vizier Mas Amedda to locate Vader, and the latter declared he would send probes and rescue vessels to all of the known jump coordinates in Sabé's shuttle; Palpatine, however, implied that he had not intended for a rescue.
When rescuing Vader from outside the Executor, the Lambda-class shuttle was piloted by Commander Sabé. The former handmaiden also brought two Prowler 1000 seeker droids aboard to retrieve Vader.
