The attack on the Verity District of Coruscant was a mission spearheaded by Colonel Soran Keize of the Galactic Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing. Keize became aware of a massive databank located beneath the upper Verity District of the capital planet Coruscant. This databank, curated by the late Emperor Palpatine, contained records of every criminal act and atrocity committed by Imperial personnel. The Messenger droids utilized this information to issue commands for Operation: Cinder following the Emperor's death at the Battle of Endor. Keize, convinced that the emerging New Republic would use the databank's contents to prosecute former Imperials if they won the Galactic Civil War, planned to demolish it by collapsing its supports, causing it to fall onto the lower levels of the district. Yrica Quell, a former TIE pilot from the 204th, realized Keize's objective. Consequently, the New Republic sent her and U-wing pilot Kairos to thwart him.
This assault unfolded concurrently with the Empire's final stand during the Battle of Jakku. During the mission to destroy the databank, Keize abandoned his unit. After forcing his way through the Imperial blockade in the Coruscant system, Keize descended towards the planet's surface, with Quell and Kairos following shortly after. Despite attempts by Imperial forces to defend Coruscant, they were obliterated by both Keize and Quell, who then engaged in a dogfight. With TIE fighters in pursuit, Kairos ejected from her U-wing just before it exploded. This explosion eliminated numerous pursuers and inflicted damage on Keize's starfighter. Keize crash-landed, suffering critical injuries, but still intended to detonate proton warheads to destroy the databank. Quell landed and confronted the mortally wounded Keize, stopping him from completing his mission. Simultaneously, the New Republic achieved victory over the Empire at Jakku, and subsequently dispatched Intelligence operatives to analyze the databank.
