Electrocrops were a kind of riding crop, featuring two prongs, that delivered an electrical jolt upon application. Back in 34 ABY, the jockey named Arca Yroca employed a red electrocrop when he was riding the fathier called Hoth Stuff. This occurred at the racetrack located in Canto Bight on the planet of Cantonica. He shocked the fathier's side, which made it run faster and cry out in agony. Resistance operatives Rose Tico and Finn witnessed this cruel action.
The electrocrop made its debut appearance in the sequel trilogy film from 2017, specifically Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi. Its identification first occurred in the companion reference book Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, authored by Pablo Hidalgo. In both the film's novelization by Jason Fry and the junior novel by Michael Kogge, there was an error; they said Yroca used an electro-whip to hit his fathier, instead of an electrocrop.
