The fire-control chamber served as the central location for operating Centerpoint Station. It was from this space that the station's offensive capabilities were unleashed.
The fire-control chamber was characterized by its extensive array of consoles, datajacks, keyboards, monitors, and various readouts, creating a visually complex environment. A specific open area within the chamber was once occupied by Anakin Sal-Solo, who mistakenly believed himself to be Anakin Solo, and possessed a height twice that of a typical Human. It was within this very chamber that the targeting and firing sequences for Centerpoint Station were executed. Furthermore, the chamber provided access to the station's security cams, allowing for surveillance of the surrounding areas.
During the events of the Second Galactic Civil War, the Corellian leadership orchestrated a trap for Colonel Solo, a prominent Chiefs of State within the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, under the guise of Corellia's surrender. The battle plan involved utilizing Centerpoint to obliterate the Anakin Solo, eliminate Colonel Solo killing him, and cripple a portion of the Galactic Alliance Second Fleet. However, the firing sequence failed to destroy the Anakin Solo, Solo survived, and the fire-control chamber itself was engulfed in flames due to the Corellians circumventing established security protocols designed to accommodate Anakin Solo, or the droid that had Anakin's memories. When Prime Minister of the Five Worlds Sadras Koyan inquired about the situation, Vibro offered a simplified explanation regarding the malfunctions within the station's systems and the fire-control chamber's operational issues.
Later, when Solo spearheaded an Alliance operation to capture Centerpoint Station, the Jedi sought to dismantle the station. One proposed strategy involved scientist Toval Seyah utilizing the fire-control chamber to reprogram the station, causing it to overload rather than execute a firing sequence.
As Koyan departed the station, Vibro monitored his movements via the security cams accessible from the fire-control chamber. Driven by vengeance for his wife, he independently initiated a firing sequence targeting Coruscant, ultimately leading to Centerpoint Station's destruction. This action was made possible by Seyah's successful reprogramming of the star data within Centerpoint's systems, effectively resetting all other coordinates with the center as Hollowtown.
