A significant engagement during the Second Galactic Civil War was a space battle that unfolded at a remote deep-space meeting location late in the year 40 ABY.
During the Second Galactic Civil War, a conflict between the Galactic Alliance and the Confederation, the Five Worlds government, which controlled the Corellian system, secretly plotted the assassination of the Alliance's Chief of State, Jacen Solo. Without the backing of the Confederation, Five World Prime Minister Sadras Koyan and Corellia's Minister of Information Denjax Teppler collaborated to reactivate and bring online Centerpoint Station, an ancient superweapon situated within the Corellian system. As technicians worked to get the station running, Koyan reached out to the Alliance, requesting a meeting with Solo at a distant deep-space rendezvous point, supposedly to discuss Corellia's defection from the Confederation to the Alliance.
Solo journeyed to the meeting point aboard his flagship, the Anakin Solo, accompanied by elements of the Galactic Alliance Second Fleet. He was met by a Corellian Decoy fleet consisting of obsolete and nearly abandoned vessels. Before any talks could commence, he received a communication from his mother, Leia Organa Solo, who was aboard the SoroSuub 2400 yacht named Love Commander. The yacht docked in one of the Anakin Solo's hangar bays, and Organa Solo went to the bridge to give her son a serious lecture. In the meantime, her husband, daughter, and two friends, who were concealed on the yacht, snuck onto the ship to carry out a sabotage mission. Upon their return, they briefly fought the Force phantom of the rogue Dark Jedi, Alema Rar.
Solo started negotiations with Corellian Captain Hoclaw via holocam. When he noticed his mother's absence, he suspected she had planted an explosive device and quickly boarded a TIE Reconnaissance Fighter with his daughter Allana and left the ship. The Jedi Coalition's Red Sword Flight, working together with the crew of the Love Commander, arrived in StealthXs and engaged him in combat. They refrained from making lethal shots after they sensed the presence of a child in his starfighter.
Corellian reinforcements then arrived, and a battle erupted. While the Decoy fleet suffered heavy damage from the Alliance Second Fleet, they maintained their distance, anticipating an attack from Centerpoint Station. At the same time, Koyan, Teppler, and Corellian Admiral Genna Delpin, aboard Centerpoint with a team of technicians, authorized the station to fire. The station's repulsor weapon obliterated the Decoy Fleet and a significant portion of the Second Fleet, but the Chief of State and the Anakin Solo managed to escape.
Turr Phennir, the Supreme Commander of the Confederation military, was furious that Corellia had acted independently and cut off all Confederation aid to the planet. When Teppler made a private appeal to him, Phennir stated that Corellia would only be welcomed back into the Confederation if Koyan was removed from power. The Alliance learned that Centerpoint was operational and later launched an attack on it. During this attack, Teppler manipulated Koyan, leading to his death, in order to secure Confederate reinforcements.
