First Order Raider

First Order Raiders were a specialized type of stormtrooper within the First Order, active during their conflict with the Resistance. These skilled hunters were tasked by Supreme Leader Kylo Ren with the mission of finding and securing ancient Sith artifacts. In the year 34 ABY, a team of Raiders, commanded by Agent Raith, pursued Mika Grey to the location of Vargos 9. The archaeologist managed to evade them, eventually arriving on the planet Ashas Ree in her quest to locate an ancient Sith relic. Raith and his Raiders also journeyed to this planet, where they captured members of Team Colossus who were there to gather resources. Their attempts to interrogate the captured individuals were unsuccessful, as Grey unleashed the power of the Sith relic she discovered within a Sith temple. Although the Raiders tried to contain the relic, its activation resulted in a wave of energy that incapacitated them, allowing the Colossus resistance fighters to return to their ship with Grey.

History

Raith, a First Order Raider

First Order Raiders were a specific type of stormtrooper serving the First Order during their war against the Resistance. Supreme Leader Kylo Ren tasked them with the acquisition of Sith artifacts, and these Raiders were specially trained as highly adept hunters. In 34 ABY, a group of Raiders, led by Agent Raith, followed the archaeologist Mika Grey to Vargos 9. Grey escaped and made her way to the planet Ashas Ree where she sought to find an ancient Sith relic to keep it out of the First Order's hands. The Raiders arrived on Ashas Ree, searching for the relic, and entered a trading outpost which contained two ancient temples dedicated to the Force: one Jedi temple and one Sith temple. In the outpost, they encountered Torra Doza and Freya Fenris, along with their droid companions. Unbeknownst to the Raiders, these two were members of Team Colossus. The Raiders labeled them as 'trespassers', captured them, and attempted to conduct an interrogation outside the duo's ship. The Raiders also found and destroyed Mika Grey's ship, causing it to explode.

Meanwhile, Raith ordered two other troopers to search the surrounding area, where they found four more members of the Colossus resistance. Kazuda Xiono urged the Raiders not to shoot, as they were unarmed. The Raiders quickly escorted them to the entrance of the Jedi Temple, where Raith's main group of troopers and prisoners soon gathered. Xiono insisted that they were only searching for supplies, but Raith was not convinced and demanded to know what they had found inside the Sith temple. At that moment, Grey revealed herself and mocked the Raiders for failing to capture her or acquire the relic. Raith threatened to execute the two young trespassers, Kel and Eila, but Grey responded quickly. She activated the relic and threw it as far as she could behind the Raiders. The prisoners fled, and the troopers, realizing the danger, attempted to deactivate the relic. However, they were too slow, and the relic released a powerful wave of red energy that electrified and neutralized the Raiders. With their enemies defeated and the Sith relic rendered useless, Grey accompanied the resistance members back to their ship, the Colossus.

Equipment

Similar to standard First Order stormtroopers, First Order Raiders were equipped with armor that could accommodate rank pauldrons. They also used F-11D blaster rifles. The raiders were also equipped with a gray macro scope that was magnetically attached to the back of their armor.

The First Order Raiders made their debut in "The Relic Raiders," the seventh episode of the second season of the animated series Star Wars Resistance. Their initial reveal was in the Season Two trailer, which was released on the official Star Wars YouTube channel. The Raiders were a completely new design created specifically for the show.

In the game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, The First Order Raiders are represented by a unit portrait, but they are not playable characters. They appear as enemies in the "Heir to the Light Side" event, which is required to unlock Galactic Legend Rey. The portrait is named "tex.charui_firstorder_raider."
