47 lightsaber nullifier
The lightsaber stifling technology, also designated as the 47 lightsaber nullifier or simply the four-seven nullifier, represented a device in its prototype stage. Its function was to disrupt energy-based weaponry, encompassing both blasters and the lightsabers wielded by the Jedi, thus rendering them inoperable. Powering this device was a core constructed from recainium, a substance notorious for its dangerous nature and illegal status. During the High Republic Era, Klerin Chekkat engineered a prototype of this nullifier. However, her mother, Mantessa, falsely claimed authorship of the invention. The elder Chekkat transported the prototype to the Republic Fair situated on the planet of Valo, with the intention of selling it to Galactic Republic senator Tia Toon. Senator Toon had been advocating for a shift in the Republic's defense strategy, suggesting that the Jedi Order should not be the Republic's only protectors. Chekkat's rationale was that Toon would be interested in the device because of its capacity to neutralize Jedi combatants. Despite this, Toon's stance did not equate to opposition against the Jedi, leading him to decline Chekkat's offer. Furthermore, the recainium core emitted radiation into the surrounding environment, prompting Toon to instruct Chekkat to deactivate the device. Following the attack on the fair by Nihil marauders, Klerin Chekkat falsely reported to the Republic that the raiders had stolen the device's schematics. Subsequently, she attempted to sell the Nihil a scaled-down version powered by tolium.
Melis Shryke, a Nihil warlord, deployed a 47 lightsaber nullifier on her Stormship, named the Cacophony, during the capture of Jedi Grand Master Pra-Tre Veter. However, the device was destroyed in the process.
