Ultimately, he was executed using the terrifying Nameless in 229 BBY, the anniversary of Starlight's fall, during a live broadcast intended as a warning to both the Galactic Republic and the Jedi.

Biography

The Scalvi Incident

Pra-Tre Veter

By the time 250 BBY rolled around, Pra-Tre Veter had earned a spot on the Jedi High Council. Early in his tenure, the Council became aware of a dire situation involving the Scalvi people on the planet Turrak, located in the Outer Rim. While his fellow Masters were keen to intervene, Veter considered the matter unworthy of the Council's attention, much to their displeasure. To silence their disapproval, Veter volunteered to travel to Turrak and resolve the crisis swiftly. However, Yoda insisted on handling the situation personally, despite Veter's objections.

At a later point, Pra-Tre and Jedi Master Ela Sutan met with Yoda on the Wheel within the Besh Gorgon system. Veter declined Yoda's invitation to visit Turrak, citing the pressing needs of the Council, and unsuccessfully tried to persuade Yoda to return to Coruscant. Neither Veter nor Sutan were impressed by Yoda's skill on the taratti, a Scalvi musical instrument. Yoda soon departed to return to Turrak. After a short time, Yoda returned to Coruscant, disappointed by the violence on Turrak.

Years after Yoda's initial return, he revisited the Scalvi on Turrak. During this brief visit, Pra-Tre contacted him from the Council chamber on Coruscant to ensure he wouldn't be staying long. Veter expressed regret for not accepting Yoda's earlier invitation and offered to send Jedi assistance to restore Turrak's oceans. Veter conceded he had misjudged the Scalvi during their crisis and thanked Yoda for teaching him the proper way to approach such situations.

Role as Grand Master

By 232 BBY, Veter held the esteemed position of one of three Grand Masters in the Jedi Order, sharing the title with Masters Yoda and Xo Lahru. In that same year, Veter and Yoda journeyed to the space station Starlight Beacon to bestow upon Master Avar Kriss the title of marshal of the station.

Following the destruction of Starlight Beacon in 230 BBY, Veter, alongside Grand Master Lahru and Master Soleil Agra, issued an urgent transmission on behalf of Yoda and the Jedi High Council to all Jedi, informing them of the station's demise. They cautioned members of the Order to steer clear of the Outer Rim Territories due to the ongoing attacks by the Nihil. The message concluded with a request for all Jedi to reconvene on Coruscant. Veter was then captured by Melis Shryke while attempting to protect civilians during a raid near the Occlusion Zone. His position as Grand Master was subsequently filled by Master Ry Ki-Sakka. In 229 BBY, after being held captive by the Nihil for two months, Veter was executed by the Nihil during a widely broadcasted spectacle.
