Ry Ki-Sakka

During the High Republic Era, Ry Ki-Sakka, a human Jedi who achieved the rank of Grand Master within the Jedi Order, dedicated a significant portion of his life to missions in the galaxy's most remote areas. His experiences far from the Galactic Republic's borders fostered a strong sense of self-reliance. Following the death of Jedi Master Jora Malli in the Battle of Kur against the Nihil marauders, Ki-Sakka was chosen to fill her vacant seat on the Jedi High Council. As a member of the Jedi Council, Ki-Sakka played a crucial role in addressing the ongoing conflict with the Nihil, which included the implementation of the Guardian Protocols and discussions about the marauders' Occlusion Zone and the Nameless creatures they employed. Later, after Master Pra-Tre Veter's capture and subsequent disappearance, Ki-Sakka was elevated to the position of Grand Master.

Biography

Recall to Coruscant

During the High Republic Era, Ry Ki-Sakka, a human Jedi Master belonging to the Jedi Order, spent a considerable amount of time in the distant regions of the galaxy, undertaking various assignments in isolated locations. This led him to develop a sense of independence far from the usual boundaries of the Galactic Republic. In 232 BBY, following the death of Master Jora Malli during the Battle of Kur against the Nihil marauder group, Ki-Sakka took her place on the Jedi High Council. As a result of the requirements of his new role, Ki-Sakka made his way back to Coruscant, the capital planet of the Republic. Following the Nihil's destruction of the Starlight Beacon space station in 230 BBY, the Jedi Council issued a recall for all its members to return to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. This was intended as a temporary measure until further notice. Within the Temple, Ki-Sakka, along with Master Soleil Agra and Grand Master Yoda, observed the returning Jedi and commented on the effectiveness of the recall signal. Agra emphasized that the recall was a necessary action, especially given the need to understand the Force-eating Nameless creatures that the Nihil had been using against the Jedi. Yoda then excused himself to further investigate and meditate on the matter.

One week after the fall of Starlight, in 229 BBY, Ki-Sakka and other members of the Jedi Council gathered in the chamber of the Senate Building to address a group of the recalled Jedi. The other Council members discussed the actions of the Nihil and their leader, Marchion Ro, which included the recent establishment of the Occlusion Zone, the Nihil's territory behind the Stormwall barrier. In response to the Nihil's actions, the Council announced the implementation of the Guardian Protocols to address the ongoing crisis.

Rising darkness

Three months after Starlight's destruction, Ki-Sakka was present in the Jedi Council Chamber as Master Elzar Mann addressed the Council, urging them to find a way to penetrate the Stormwall and rescue the Jedi trapped within the Occlusion Zone. The meeting was then interrupted by Yoda's return. He reassured Mann and dismissed him before inviting Azlin Rell, a former Jedi Knight who had previously encountered the Nameless and had turned to the dark side in an attempt to understand them.

The Jedi Council regarded Rell with suspicion, and Ki-Sakka challenged the former Jedi's assertion that he had no alternative but to follow his chosen path. Rell retorted by suggesting that Ki-Sakka, of all people, should understand, leaving the Master without a response. The former Jedi admitted that he had willingly embraced the dark side, causing Ki-Sakka and the other Jedi to ignite their lightsabers. However, Yoda instructed the Jedi to lower their weapons, insisting that Rell could provide valuable insights into the Nameless. When Grand Master Pra-Tre Veter was captured by the Nihil nine months after the fall of Starlight and subsequently disappeared, Ki-Sakka was promoted to Grand Master in his stead. In the same year, Ki-Sakka was mentioned in Chronicles of the Jedi, a document authored by Master Harli Cogra.

Personality and traits

As a Grand Master on the Council, Ki-Sakka embodied the Jedi ideals and applied his past experiences to his role. According to Master Cogra, older Jedi viewed Ki-Sakka as a representation of the old Republic Pathfinder spirit, valuing self-sufficiency due to his time spent in the galaxy's remote regions. Ry Ki-Sakka had brown skin, black hair and a beard, and piercing dark eyes. His height was 1.88 meters (6 feet 2 inches).

Equipment

Ki-Sakka's weapon of choice was a purple-bladed lightsaber, and he wore a set of white and gold temple robes.
