Biography

As an officer in service to the Galactic Empire, Gable Karius underwent a transformation at some point in his life that involved the implantation of cybernetics on the left side of his face and his right arm. Eventually, he ascended to the position of admiral within the Imperial Navy. During the [Imperial Era](/article/imperial_era], Admiral Karius took command of an Interdictor-class Star Destroyer and received assignment to Mustafar. While stationed there, he successfully captured the starship known as Windfall. Following its arrival at Fortress Vader, Karius, accompanied by two stormtroopers, successfully boarded the vessel and apprehended its crew. Subsequently, after the captain of the Windfall, a smuggler, regained consciousness in a holding cell, Karius briefly informed them about Darth Vader and an impending task. Vader then entered and provided the smuggler with a device for unlocking something. Upon the captain's success, Vader expressed his satisfaction, confirming that the smuggler was the individual he sought. Subsequently, Admiral Karius and Vader departed the room, with Vader indicating his intention to summon the captain later.

Following the escape of ZO-E3, Vylip F'alma, and the smuggler from their respective cells, ZO-E3 cleverly mimicked Karius' voice to deceive the security system, facilitating their escape from the prison area. Upon discovering the security breach, Karius promptly alerted all personnel and initiated a lockdown of the fortress. When it was determined that ZO-E3 and the smuggler were located in the castle's excavation level, Karius deployed all available units to secure the area. However, ZO-E3, Vylip, and the smuggler managed to escape to Lady Corvax's sanctum.

Eventually, Darth Vader successfully acquired his objective, the Bright Star. The smuggler, however, uncovered secrets pertaining to Mustafar and the sanctum, and in conjunction with a Priestess, activated Lady Corvax's The Marching Horde droid army, initiating an attack on Fortress Vader with the aim of reclaiming the Bright Star. Karius alerted the Fortress to the presence of unidentified hostiles, directing all forces to converge on the hangar. After the smuggler and ZO-E3 gained control of the hangar doors from the control center, allowing their army to enter and engage Imperial stormtroopers, Karius ambushed them, remarking that he had cautioned Vader against trusting them. However, ZO-E3 electrocuted Karius, causing him to fall over a guardrail. During the ensuing battle, the smuggler and ZO-E3 engaged stormtroopers but were soon confronted once more by Karius, this time piloting a modified TIE fighter featuring an additional turret on its left side. Following a brief engagement, Karius's starfighter sustained critical damage, resulting in a crash and explosion within the hangar.
