Hallan Krintu

Hallan Krintu was a Jedi, specifically a male Twi'lek of Rutian descent, who belonged to the Exploration Corps. He served as the instructor for Yigan Lam, his Padawan. With a deep desire for galactic harmony, Krintu displayed a keen interest in the cloning process, often observing the training exercises of clone troopers conducted by the Kaminoans. During the [Clone Wars](/article/clone_wars], specifically in 21 BBY, this Jedi was part of a group that witnessed Kaj Loomit's act of sabotage against a simulation chamber located on Kamino. Ultimately, Krintu and his companions were successful in thwarting Loomit's plan.

Biography

Born in 65 BBY, Hallan Krintu entered the ranks of the Jedi Order around 41 BBY. He rose to the rank of Jedi Knight within the Galactic Republic, dedicating much of his service to the Exploration Corps. During his tenure as a Jedi, a rancor deprived Krintu of his right leg, leading to its replacement with a cybernetic one.

Near the onset of the [Clone Wars](/article/clone_wars], Krintu accepted Yigan Lam as his Padawan, striving to provide her with the best possible training despite the ongoing war. The two fought side by side in multiple conflicts involving clone soldiers and also monitored clone training regimens. In 21 BBY, Krintu and Lam were dispatched as members of a delegation to Kamino to observe a simulation chamber. This advanced training facility was designed to replicate various terrains and climates, aiding in the development of combat drills for [clone troopers](/article/clone_trooper]. Accompanying them were Senator Tas Gallin, Zinn Kudri (Gallin's aide), veteran clone troopers Red and Hawk, along with six additional officials representing diverse species and agencies.

Upon arrival, the group was greeted by Kama Te, a Kaminoan training administrator, just as a group of Republic traders was departing. Eager to showcase the simulation chamber, Administrator Te led the officials to a control room for a demonstration. Clone troopers and B1 training droids entered the chamber and received equipment from an A-A3 Dray light speeder truck as the delegates watched. At Te's command, Kaminoan technicians initiated the chamber's climate and terrain simulation systems, creating an arctic environment. Te then signaled for the activation of the battle droids and turret emplacements, commencing the exercise.

Just as each side was preparing to launch its main attack, a loud explosion echoed throughout the chamber. The simulated riverbanks shifted dramatically, and floor plates fractured, resembling a groundquake. This sent clones into the icy water that drained into the maintenance chamber below. Amidst the chaos of rushing water and tearing metal, the clones and droids ceased fighting. Alarms blared, warning lights flashed, and tactical holoprojectors failed, shocking Administrator Te and the technicians. With the chamber in ruins, the B1 battle droids and turrets resumed their attack, targeting the observers. Krintu and his allies neutralized the droid threat before addressing the disaster.

As the situation began to stabilize, the rivers surged upwards, an avalanche started to form, and the floor plates around the control center collapsed as its energy shield deactivated, sending the avalanche towards the vulnerable area. With the barrier down, Krintu and the other delegates moved to reactivate the shields, protect themselves from the avalanche, and rescue trapped clones using the facility's two speeder trucks. The damaged floors and walls revealed crossed wires, power scramblers, and rerouted ducts, indicating sabotage.

The group continued to assist in rescue efforts. After a period of calm, the chamber was rocked by an explosion, launching a floor panel into the air and stirring up snow that obscured vision. Elite, fully functional droids emerged from the snow, moving to attack Krintu and the others. The saboteur, Kaj Loomit, a Separatist, revealed himself, denouncing the Republic. Loomit also used the remaining turret droids, aiming to ensure the exercise failed, thus embarrassing the Republic and hindering the war effort.

The Kaminoans identified Loomit to Krintu and his companions as one of the Republic traders and a trusted member of the facility's development team who operated its training droids. Loomit's droid forces, consisting of reprogrammed training units and actual battle droids he had brought, focused on Krintu's allies rather than the Kaminoans and other delegation members. Loomit attempted to capture the civilians and convince them to abandon the Republic in favor of the Separatist cause.

Krintu's team, confronted with turrets, B-2 super battle training droids, and C-8 saboteur droids, fought alongside the clone trainees. They eventually defeated Loomit and his battle droids. The group then discovered Loomit's datapad, which revealed a network of further sabotage planned for the coming days.
