The Solo family, at one time recognized as the House of Solo, hailed from Corellia. Their lineage was said to extend back to Prince-Admiral Jonash e Solo. During the Golden Age of the Old Republic, Berethron e Solo governed the Corellian empire, implementing democratic changes that brought an end to the monarchy in the Corellian system. Following Berethron's reign, the Solo family's prominence waned, and they faced periods of disrepute. However, some accounts suggest that Han Solo, the celebrated founding hero of the New Republic, may have been a member of the House.
The earliest known member of this lineage was Jonash e Solo, the Corellian Prince-Admiral who brought an end to the Seventeenth Alsakan Conflict. Berethron e Solo is the next member of record. In 312 BBY, he relinquished his own autocratic rule over the Corellian empire by instituting democratic reforms.

Documents that surfaced during the era of the New Republic indicated that a man named Korol Solo was a sixth-generation descendant of King Berethron. However, the lineage became obscured when records from that time were destroyed during the Clone Wars. Nevertheless, in 8 ABY, research conducted by C-3PO revealed that Korol Solo had a son named Dalla on Duro around 52 BBY. At the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Dalla changed his family name to "Suul." He rose to become a notorious criminal kingpin and pirate, and he fathered a son named Jonash Suul.
Han Solo, purportedly a member of the House, was born into poverty to Jonash Solo in 29 BBY. He later became a renowned hero of the Rebel Alliance. According to his birth records, his paternal ancestry could be traced back to King Berethron through Korol Solo. However, further investigation, corroborated by the Coruscant city computer, revealed that Korol Solo was, in fact, an imposter to the Corellian throne who was executed for his crimes. Despite C-3PO's last-minute attempt to prove that Han Solo was not of noble birth, and therefore unsuitable to marry Princess Leia, the head of House of Organa, the wedding proceeded. In addition to marrying into the noble Organa family, Solo also married into the Skywalker family. Due to the already legendary accomplishments of its members, the Solo-Skywalker clan became regarded as one of the most influential and famous families in history.
In 138 ABY, Ania Solo, a descendant of the House of Solo, was working as a junkyard owner within the Carreras system.
Jarik Solo asserted that he was a long-lost cousin of Han Solo. Although Han Solo knew this to be false, he did not reveal his knowledge to Jarik. Instead, Han befriended Jarik and permitted him to continue using the Solo name. As Jarik lay dying, he confessed his deception, at which point Han told him that he had earned the name.
Danielle Kieran claimed to be the illegitimate daughter of Han Solo. She emulated the man she believed to be her father by adopting his clothing and mannerisms, piloting a ship named the Century Hawk, and attempting the Kessel Run.
The lineage of Han Solo's family has been expanded upon in various novels, and occasionally, certain aspects appear contradictory. Daniel Wallace offered this suggestion to the creator of the Time Tales family tree:
Again, this may be explained by the Corellian dating system deriving from a longer year on Corellia, so 11 may be 21 or more if the year is twice standard measure.
