Humbarine sector

The Humbarine sector represented a prosperous and industrialized zone situated within both the Core Worlds and the Slice regions. The Clone Wars brought extensive combat to this area, notably the Separatist bombardment targeting the sector's capital, Humbarine. During this period of conflict, the Humbarine native Bana Breemu served as the sector's representative in the Galactic Senate of the Galactic Republic.

Description

A center of wealth and industry, the Humbarine sector was a sector of the galaxy that lay in the Core Worlds and the Slice areas. Its capital city was Humbarine, a terrestrial world found at grid coordinates M-10 on the Standard Galactic Grid. A hyperspace route linked it to Gatalenta, Commenor, and the major Hydian Way route.

History

Humbarine, capital of the Humbarine sector, was bombarded by Separatists during the Clone Wars.

In the peaceful centuries before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, numerous large and powerful warships were constructed for the Humbarine sector's defense, although these vessels had limited hyperdrive range. The Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, brought intense fighting to the sector, including a devastating Separatist orbital bombardment that scarred Humbarine. During this time, Senator Bana Breemu, a Humbarine native and member of the Delegation of 2,000 (a group concerned about Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine's growing power), represented the sector in the Republic's Galactic Senate.

By the time of the Galactic Civil War, Humbarine was a supporter of Palpatine, who had become the Galactic Emperor of the Galactic Empire. Following the apparent death of the Emperor and the end of the war, the sector's capital joined an Imperial remnant, incorporating former Imperial holdings in the Core, the Colonies, and the Inner Rim Territories.

Locations

Humbarine was considered an ancient and conservative world by the time the Galactic Civil War took place. It was the original habitat of the sycanid species, and it housed both the Humbarine Academy of Advanced Studies and a planetary defense force.

Behind the scenes

Within established Star Wars canon, the Humbarine sector was initially referenced in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Complete Vehicles. This information originated from the 2002 reference book Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Incredible Cross-Sections by Curtis Saxton, which marked the sector's debut in the Star Wars Legends continuity. Later, it appeared in the 2009 non-canon mobile game Star Wars: Jedi Mind Tricks.
