Inaya, hailing from Hazun, was a princess who belonged to the human species, and identified as female. She was traveling with the droid PD-4 to the planet of Tenoo in search of a special gift for her father.
Inaya's life took place during the period known as the High Republic Era. In the year 232 BBY, Inaya made a journey to the planet Tenoo, which is located in the Outer Rim, with the intention of finding a suitable present for her father. During her stay, her starship experienced a malfunction, compelling her to secure a ride on the Crimson Firehawk. The Firehawk was piloted by Nash Durango, a local resident of Tenoo, who was noticeably anxious about having such an important passenger. Assisting Durango were her droid, RJ-83, along with Jedi Initiates Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs, all stationed at the Tenoo Jedi Temple. Despite PD-4's misgivings regarding the princess using local transportation, Inaya clarified that she needed to return home promptly for her father's royal celebration to present him with her gift, as the ship repairs would take an extended period. The Jedi Initiates assisted Inaya in securing her gift within the Firehawk, and the group of young Jedi embarked on their journey to Inaya's home planet. Before they could initiate the jump to hyperspace, their path was blocked by Taborr Val Dorn aboard his starship, the Iron Talon. Inaya began offering suggestions on how they might evade Val Dorn, but Solay interrupted her before she could fully express her idea. The crew of the Firehawk tried to outmaneuver Val Dorn, but the pirate relentlessly fired upon them, eventually disabling their shields and lateral controls, resulting in a forced landing on top of a Tenoo tree.
Durango urgently tried to repair her ship before Taborr's gang could reach them, enlisting the help of the Jedi Initiates and RJ, but she unintentionally overlooked asking her royal passenger for assistance. Regardless, Inaya aided Nubs in pinpointing a flexscope and hydrospanner that were crucial for mending the thruster controls. Inaya suggested to Durango that the blasts might have caused a disconnection in the power couplings, but Durango dismissed the idea. Realizing that her father's present could be at risk from the pirates, Inaya was alerted by sounds of Taborr's crew members, EB-3 and Pord, inside the ship. As she exited the cockpit, she discovered that her present had been stolen, and she caught EB-3 in the act of loading it onto the Iron Talon.
Determined to rescue the present, Inaya secretly boarded the Iron Talon, but the ship took off before Inaya could retrieve the gift or the Jedi could board to assist. After informing the Firehawk of her safety using a comlink, she used her mechanical skills to take over the Iron Talon's controls, forcing Val Dorn to crash the ship closer to the Firehawk. This allowed the other younglings to board the ship and retrieve the present, but Taborr's gang put up a fight. After getting the present secured, Inaya rigged the ship's boarding ramp to close behind the younglings, trapping Val Dorn and his gang inside.
By the time the Jedi and Inaya return to the Firehawk, Durango had fixed the ship, realizing that Inaya was correct about the power couplings being disconnected. On their journey back to her home planet, Inaya had the opportunity to pilot the Firehawk. Upon their arrival, Inaya invited her new friends to the royal celebration, but they had to attend to their responsibilities back on Tenoo. Optimistic about returning to fly with her friends in the future, Inaya headed to the party.
In general, Inaya had a very approachable demeanor. She didn't expect special treatment because of her royal status, but she did appreciate being treated like everyone else. Flight was one of Inaya's passions, and she admired Durango's personalized modifications to the Firehawk, as well as the fact that another young person her age had the opportunity to travel the galaxy in their own ship. Inaya had a natural talent for piloting and working on ships, but she rarely had the chance to pursue these interests. She sometimes felt frustrated that, as a princess, people preferred to handle everything for her, rather than allowing her to explore her own interests. As a result, she considered her adventure with the Jedi Initiates to be an exciting opportunity for adventure. Inaya's technical skills came in handy when she managed to override the ship's controls while aboard the Iron Talon.
Inaya's debut was in "The Princess and the Jedi," which served as the initial segment of the ninth episode from the first season of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, an animated series featured on Disney+ and Disney Junior. The episode was broadcast on August 2, 2023. Sydney Thomas provided the voice for the character. The character design for Inaya was created by Betsy Bauer, an artist.
