Janu Godalhi, a male human, was a security expert and lawyer who collaborated with Plo Koon, a Jedi Master, to expel pirates from the planet of Teth. He attended a showing of the opera Squid Lake at the Galaxies Opera House on Coruscant in 19 BBY.
Following the Galactic Empire's formation, Janu Godalhi took the helm of a rebel group on Teth that stood against the Empire. He forged close working relationships with Bail Organa and subsequently Mon Mothma, both members of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Janu Godalhi was a male human who served as a lawyer and security specialist. Before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, he partnered with Jedi Master Plo Koon to liberate the planet Teth in Wild Space from pirates, which incidentally led to the departure of the last Hutts from that world.
During the Clone Wars, which pitted the Galactic Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Godalhi was present at a performance of the opera Squid Lake. This took place at the Galaxies Opera House situated in the Uscru District of Coruscant in 19 BBY. While there, he traversed a corridor located behind the seating area on the floor level.
Shortly after this opera performance, Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine issued Order 66 and branded the Jedi Order as traitors. This led to the execution of numerous Jedi, including Koon. Godalhi never accepted Palpatine's accusations against the Jedi. After the Republic transformed into the Galactic Empire transition, Godalhi became the leader of one of the two rebel factions operating on Teth, both opposing the Empire. He collaborated closely with Bail Organa and later Mon Mothma, who were members of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and persisted in impeding the Empire's progress. He shared a surname with Palob Godalhi, who worked as a radio DJ.
Godalhi was an energetic man with fair skin and brown hair.
Pablo Hidalgo, a member of the Lucasfilm Story Group, made a cameo appearance as Janu Godalhi in Revenge of the Sith, a film from the prequel trilogy that premiered on May 19, 2005. Despite his fleeting presence in the film, Hidalgo was required to wear contact lenses for the role, as George Lucas, the director, wanted to avoid the appearance of eyeglasses.
Hidalgo's filming as Godalhi took place on November 17, 2004, at Industrial Light & Magic, involving two separate shots commencing at 3 p.m. The initial shot featured Hidalgo in the hallway adjacent to the theater auditorium, accompanied by ILM personnel Katherine Farrar, Lars Jensvold, and David Gray. The group engaged in conversation before proceeding through a doorway to take their seats; however, this particular shot was ultimately excluded from the final version of the film. Hidalgo's solo shot, which did make the final cut, was the last one of the day. He was filmed walking along a slightly curved line, marked by three crosses made of masking tape on the floor. While walking away from the camera, he glanced over his left shoulder at the performance, and while walking toward the camera, he had to glance over his right shoulder.
Within current Star Wars canon, the character's identification first occurred in an episode of The Star Wars Show that was released on YouTube on July 6, 2016. The name originated within the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was conceived by users Adrick Tolliver, "gohan316427," and "General Tarfful" in an entry for the What's The Story? feature of StarWars.com. This entry was published to the Databank on August 12, 2005. The entry established Janu Godalhi as the father of Palob Godalhi, a character that already existed from the 1998 novel Rebel Dawn by A. C. Crispin.
