In the early years of the Galactic Empire, a male human named Joon Strephi held the rank of officer within the Imperial Officer Corps. Strephi, along with a quartet of other officers, met their end following a plot against Darth Vader. Vader commented that while he suspected the conspirators, he would inevitably endure.
Joon Strephi was a male human who held the position of officer for the Imperial military as part of the Imperial Officer Corps. After bounty hunters attempted to assassinate Darth Vader on Cabarria, Vader, upon arriving at Coruscant, instructed his droid to analyze the source of the kill order. The droid reported that the order originated from the highest echelons of the Imperial Executive Building, including the offices of Emperor Palpatine. The droid further stated a 97% probability of the signal originating from that location, with no evidence of slicing.
Vader then requested a roster of individuals possessing access codes to Imperial systems above Level 1A1. Strephi's name appeared on this list, alongside Corin Ferro, Wilhuff Tarkin, Cassio Tagge, Jer Croteau, Tomas Azoras, and Zorta Bingan. Following a subsequent assassination attempt in orbit, which resulted in Vader and the Ninth Sister crashing their starship, Vader conferred with the Emperor and meditated, discovering the involvement of Barokki, an officer he had previously force choked some time ago. After his meditation, he presented a potential resolution to the Emperor.
Strephi, alongside numerous other officers, was summoned to an auditorium on Coruscant. Vader's belief was that the conspiracy against him stemmed from the officers' lack of understanding regarding his position as Emperor Palpatine's second in command. Following a short speech by Emperor Palpatine affirming Vader as his voice and second in command, Vader "randomly" chose Strephi, along with Ferro, Azoras, Barokki, and Bingan, and killed them using the Force, declaring that despite suspicions of conspiracy, he would always prevail. Among those killed, Barokki was one of only two officers involved in the conspiracy. The other conspirator, identifiable by two missing fingers, was not selected and was therefore spared.
