During the Clone Wars, up until the Battle of Ringo Vinda, a security force was maintained by the Galactic Republic on the homeworld of the [clone trooper](/article/clone_trooper]s, which was Kamino. This security presence continued its operations even after the proclamation of the New Order, marking the transformation of the Republic into the Galactic Empire.
Throughout the [Clone Wars](/article/clone_wars], a highly competent military unit operated on Kamino. The clone troopers in this unit wore phase II clone trooper armor with markings that resembled those on the clone shock troopers of the Coruscant Guard. However, unlike the Coruscant Guard, the color scheme of the Kamino security clone troopers was gray instead of red, and their armor's shoulder pad displayed the Kamino security logo.
This military unit reported to a Clone Captain and Jedi General Shaak Ti, who oversaw clone trooper training. Nala Se, the Chief Medical Scientist, also had authority over the security forces. The Kamino security forces were responsible for protecting the Kaminoan Prime Minister Lama Su whenever the Tipoca City Military Complex went into alarm status. They were equipped with DC-15A blaster rifles and DC-15A blaster carbines.

During the Clone Wars, which was a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance, the world of Kamino, under the Republic's control, was attacked by Separatist forces, resulting in the Battle of Kamino. Kamino was a strategically vital planet because it housed the Grand Army of the Republic's facilities, where clone troopers were trained, garrisoned, and produced. The 501st Legion and the Rancor Battalion were part of the forces that defended Kamino during the battle.
However, by the [Battle of Ringo Vinda](/article/battle_of_ringo_vinda], Kamino had developed its own security force. When Advanced Recon Commando CT-5555, known as "Fives," and CT-5385, known as "Tup," underwent examinations in Tipoca City due to an incident where Tup murdered a Jedi General, the Kamino security force was present. It was initially believed that Tup's actions were due to a medical issue. When Fives triggered a false alarm to examine Tup himself, the Kamino security forces responded at the command center, while a group escorted Kaminoan Prime Minister Lama Su and Chief Medical Scientist Nala Se.
The security force was once again activated during Fives' escape from Tipoca City, when Fives rebelled and decided to continue investigating the issues surrounding Tup and the overall biology of clone troopers, believing that the entire Grand Army had been compromised. In this time, the security force's clone trooper officer played a bigger role and reported directly to Shaak Ti. Eventually, the security forces had a brief standoff with Fives, but the situation was resolved after Shaak Ti listened to Fives' evidence.

The Kamino security forces remained operational throughout the rest of the Clone Wars and continued to serve during the proclamation of the New Order, when the Galactic Republic transitioned into the Galactic Empire. The troopers of the Kamino security group stood in formation alongside other clone brethren, including Clone Force 99, when Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine, formerly Supreme Chancellor, made his declaration.
The Kamino security force made its debut in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode "Conspiracy," but they were not identified by name.
