Khione, a female human, held the rank of captain within the Imperial forces. She commanded the Star Destroyer named Shieldmaiden during the period that stretched from the Battle of Hoth to the Battle of Endor.
As a ruthless Imperial officer, Captain Khione's objective was to apprehend Princess Leia Organa and her companions. She subjected them to interrogation regarding Operation Yellow Moon. Khione pursued Leia to various locations, including Basteel, Sesid, and Jaresh, ultimately capturing them aboard her Star Destroyer, the Shieldmaiden. Preparing to interrogate Leia, Khione was approached by Lokmarcha, who offered to divulge information in exchange for seeing Organa. The Captain refused this deal, but allowed Lokmarcha to enter Organa's cell, intending to force the princess to witness his torture by an interrogation droid. However, Lokmarcha then activated an electromagnetic pulse bomb concealed within his chest, resulting in his immediate death and causing significant damage to the Star Destroyer. This act enabled Organa and her team to make their escape. Leia incapacitated Khione, stole her uniform, and fled with Nien Nunb and Kidi Aleri aboard the Imperial shuttle Tydirium. Khione met her end when Antrot triggered explosives, creating a powerful explosion that severely damaged the Shieldmaiden, leading to its subsequent destruction.
