Edmos Khurgee was a human male who served the Galactic Empire. He held the military rank of captain and worked as a security officer. Biography
Edmos Khurgee, a human male, became an officer within the Galactic Empire's military. This fascist regime was under the leadership of Emperor Sheev Palpatine. Consequently, he was a participant in the Galactic Civil War. This war saw the Empire in opposition to the Alliance to Restore the Republic, a rebellious group aiming to depose Palpatine and reinstate democracy in the galaxy.

Khurgee at one juncture acted as the model for the male officer depicted in the propaganda poster titled COMPNOR Recruitment. This poster was designed to encourage citizens to enlist in the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (abbreviated as COMPNOR). This agency was responsible for promoting the Empire's underlying ideology. While this implied the captain may have had a favorable relationship with COMPNOR officials, as favoritism was common, it also sparked unsubstantiated rumors of a romantic connection between Khurgee and the artist, Dasita Lyros.
In 0 BBY, Khurgee held the rank of captain and was a security officer assigned to the Death Star. This was the Empire's newly constructed, spherical, mobile battle station located in deep space. On one day, the Death Star's tractor beams ensnared a Corellian freighter as it entered the region of space containing the remains of the planet Alderaan, which had recently been destroyed by the battle station. Once the captured vessel, the Millennium Falcon, was placed in Docking Bay 327, Captain Khurgee personally led the initial investigation, inspecting the interior and reviewing the ship's log. Finding no apparent occupants and the log indicating immediate crew abandonment post-takeoff, the captain surmised the Falcon might be a diversion. Khurgee then communicated these observations and conclusions to Darth Vader, the Emperor's black-[armored](/article/armor] enforcer. Despite this, Vader instructed him to dispatch a scanning team for a more exhaustive search.
Equipment
While performing his duties on the Death Star, Edmos was seen wearing a gray Imperial officer's uniform crafted from gaberwool. This included a cap adorned with an identity disk. He also had two code cylinders and a rank insignia plaque attached to his chest. The plaque displayed a single line of six amber squares.
Behind the scenes
Captain Khurgee's initial appearance was in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, released in 1977. The role was played by Christopher Muncke, an actor from Chicago, though he was uncredited in the film. The given name "Edmos" was created by Pablo Hidalgo for the 2016 reference work titled Star Wars Propaganda: A History of Persuasive Art in the Galaxy.
Muncke's scenes were filmed over a single day at Elstree Studios, situated near London, England. The actor remembered expecting the make-up department to cut his hair short, given he was portraying a military officer. However, they informed him that only a minor trim was necessary, citing the film's setting in a completely different era.
