Knights' Billet

The Knights' Billet served as living quarters within the accommodation sector of the New Jedi Order's Temple.

History

Following the Yuuzhan Vong's defeat, Cal Omas, the Galactic Alliance Chief of State, authorized the construction of a new Jedi Temple. This new structure was intended to replace the original Temple that had been routed by the Galactic Empire. The Reconstruction Authority handled the construction. During the Galactic Civil War, old blueprints were recovered and used to build the new Temple's interior. The Knights' Billet was finished along with the rest of the Temple, but it is not known whether it was newly constructed or rebuilt.

During the Dark Nest Crisis, most of the Order's Jedi Knights were away from the Temple. They were either tracking pirates or working with Admiral Nek Bwua'tu in the Utegetu Nebula, leaving the Billet almost empty. Luke Skywalker, recently declared Grand Master, summoned Knights Lowbacca, Tesar Sebatyne, and Tahiri Veila to the Billet. They were to meet with him and Master Cilghal to discuss their possible involvement in a security breach between the Order and Bornaryn Trading. The Grand Master found the Wookiee and Barabel Jedi waiting in the conversation salon, and allowed Jedi Veila to continue her lightsaber training in the exercise pen. Veila eventually entered the room to step into an argument between the Masters and the Knights. Skywalker claimed that the Knights were still under the influence of UnuThul of the Killiks and were leaking Order secrets. This was supposedly an attempt to influence the High Council's decision on a preemptive strike against the Chiss and Killik forces. After continuous deflection and pointless accusations, Skywalker determined that the Jedi were Killik Joiners and ordered them to go on a meditative retreat to Dagobah. He stated that if they failed to remain on Dagobah, it would be seen as their resignation.

Layout

The Billet was situated in the Temple's accommodation sector and consisted of several private rooms for the Jedi Knights of the Order. This tenth-floor suite included a conversation salon, a snack galley, and an exercise pen. The salon had several tables and chairs for Knights to use when discussing politics or the Force. At the end of the main hallway, the exercise pen had a transparisteel window, allowing those in the hall to watch the training taking place inside.
