Laalee was born to Marg and Tezzka Krim. Her mother and father, respectively, held a leadership position within the Pyke Syndicate during the Clone Wars. She was also the younger sibling of Vram. After her father, Krim, declined a merger of the Pyke Syndicate with the larger Black Sun syndicate, Laalee, along with her mother Tezzka and brother Vram, were taken against their will by Black Sun. They were held as prisoners at a fortress located on Mustafar. The Force-sensitive bounty hunters Asajj Ventress and Quinlan Vos freed Laalee and her family, returning them safely to their home.
During the Clone Wars, Laalee was a Pyke residing on the planet Oba Diah. Her parents were Marg Krim and Tezzka Krim. She also had an elder brother named Vram. In the second year of the Clone Wars, her father, Krim, rose to the position of leader within the Pyke Syndicate, a criminal organization that specialized in distributing illegal spice throughout the galaxy. Ziton Moj, the leader of the Black Sun, offered Krim a merger of their two syndicates, which Krim refused. In response, Ziton Moj had Laalee, her mother, and her brother kidnapped. They were kept as hostages at the Black Sun fortress on Mustafar as a means of coercing Krim into accepting Black Sun's demands.
Laalee and her family were confined within the "house" atop the fortress's tallest tower. During their captivity, she and her brother were forcibly separated from their mother, Tezzka, who was escorted into Ziton's palace by several Falleen guards. Marg, her father, was deeply troubled by his family's abduction and hired the bounty hunters Asajj Ventress and Quinlan Vos to secure the release of Laalee, her brother, and their mother. Upon discovering the location where Laalee and her family were being held, Ventress and Vos infiltrated the fortress by using an unguarded balcony.
Laalee and her brother, Vram, observed the two hunters climbing onto the balcony while peering through the "house's" windows. Vos slipped through the now-open window while Ventress disabled the controls. He told the children that he was there to save them, instructing them to trust him and remain as silent as possible. Vos, a Force-sensitive Jedi working undercover, also used his Force abilities to calm the children. When Vos inquired about their mother's whereabouts, Laalee began to cry, and Vram explained that the Black Sun guards had taken her away.
Shortly thereafter, an alarm sounded, and Black Sun guards began entering the tower to capture the intruders. Ventress and Vos, unwilling to engage the guards in combat, used their Force powers to jump down the tower's battlements to the ground, where their lava flea mounts awaited. Laalee and Vram rode piggyback on Ventress and Vos, respectively, for their escape. With Laalee on her back, Ventress successfully leaped over the battlements and boulders, safely returning to her lava flea. However, Vos was struck in the back by a blaster bolt, causing Vram to fall toward a lava flow below. Fortunately, Vos used his Force powers to levitate the child to safety.
Laalee and Vram were taken by their rescuers to Ventress' starship, the Banshee. While Ventress tended to Vos' wound, Laalee and her brother listened to music in a corner of the hold. Later, Vos borrowed Laalee's locket and used his psychometric abilities to pinpoint the location of their mother. Through the locket, Vos determined that Tezzka was still in Ziton's palace within the fortress complex. Using this information, Vos and Ventress devised a plan to rescue their mother. As a safety measure, Ventress secured Laalee and her brother to containment chairs to prevent them from accidentally damaging or destroying her ship.
While Ventress pretended to be a Pyke Syndicate negotiator, Vos managed to free Tezzka from her cell. Following a brief fight with Ziton and his men, the hunters and Tezzka escaped aboard the Banshee. Laalee and Vram were overjoyed to be reunited with their mother, who embraced them tightly. Vos and Ventress then returned Laalee and her family to Oba Diah, where they were reunited with Marg. Her father was so grateful for his family's rescue that he paid Ventress and Vos twice the agreed-upon amount. Before departing, Laalee and Vram pleaded with Vos to stay with their family and exchanged hugs.
Despite their rescue, Laalee and her family were targeted for retribution by the Black Sun, which sent a fleet of starfighters and Interceptor-class frigates to Oba Diah to "teach her father a lesson."
The rescue of Marg Krim's family was later mentioned in "Index of Organizations," a survival guide sent out by Carson Teva during the New Republic Era.
Laalee was a young child who experienced fear as a result of her and her family's abduction by the Black Sun crime syndicate. She seemed to have a good relationship with her brother, Vram, and their parents, Tezzka and Marg. Laalee and Vram formed a friendship with Quinlan Vos, the more approachable of their two rescuers. Laalee and her brother were small enough to ride piggyback on Ventress and Vos' backs.
Laalee and her family were first introduced as minor characters in Christie Golden's 2015 novel Dark Disciple. The novel was based on eight unproduced screenplays from the canceled Cartoon Network TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Dark Disciple is a part of the Canon The Clone Wars Legacy, which is an ongoing project that uses material from the canceled series across multiple media formats.
