Marg Krim, whose formal title was the Illustrious Imperator, was a male Pyke who held a position of considerable power within the Pyke Syndicate during the era of the Clone Wars. He was married to Tezzka Krim, making him the husband, and was the father of both Laalee and Vram.

Following the death of Lom Pyke, who previously led the Pyke Syndicate, Marg Krim assumed the leadership role within the Pyke Syndicate. This organization specialized in the distribution of various illegal spice types and was known for its intense internal conflicts and betrayals. His chief aide, or majordomo, was called Fife. When Ziton Moj, the head of Black Sun, proposed that their criminal groups merge, Krim declined, which prompted Moj to arrange the capture of Krim's family in an attempt to force Krim to reconsider. Krim found himself unable to depend on his own subordinates, as many of them were in favor of joining forces with Black Sun.
Out of desperation, Krim sought assistance from Asajj Ventress, a Dathomirian Nightsister and independent bounty hunter, along with her partner, Quinlan Vos, an undercover Jedi Master. Krim's associates made contact with Ventress in Coruscant's Level 1313 and invited her to Krim's residence on Oba Diah. Upon their arrival, Fife, Krim's majordomo, escorted the "bounty seekers" to Krim's throne room. There, the Pyke crime lord detailed his predicament and implored the two bounty hunters to undertake the rescue of his wife, Tezzka, and their children, Laalee and Vram. When Vos inquired as to why Krim wasn't dispatching his own forces to save his family, Krim explained that he couldn't trust them and emphasized that the successful rescue of his family would restore his reputation.
Ventress and Vos journeyed to the volcanic planet of Mustafar, where they successfully managed to rescue Krim's family from the Black Sun fortress. After confronting the Black Sun leader, Ziton Moj, and his Falleen bodyguards, the bounty hunters brought the rescued family back to Oba Diah, reuniting them with Krim. As compensation, Krim doubled the initially agreed-upon payment to Ventress and Vos. However, Krim's joy was short-lived, as Black Sun retaliated with a substantial fleet of starfighters and Interceptor-class frigates to settle the score with Krim.
Later in the conflict, Krim orchestrated an arrangement via Kinash Lock, the majordomo serving King Yaruba of Kessel, to engage Rafa Martez from Coruscant to transport spice to Oba Diah. Nevertheless, when the pilot initially contracted withdrew, Rafa was compelled to enlist her younger sister, Trace, and her untested vessel, the Silver Angel. Trace's newfound acquaintance, Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi Padawan, insisted on accompanying them to ensure the sisters remained out of harm's way, despite Rafa's skepticism regarding her motives. After acquiring the spice from Kessel, Trace became alarmed upon learning their destination was Oba Diah, and Tano disclosed that the Pykes were ruthless criminals. In a panic, the girl jettisoned their cargo into hyperspace. Driven by desperation, as the girls now owed the Pykes 30,000 credits, Tano devised a scheme to deceive Krim. Upon arriving at the Pyke Palace, Rafa, Trace, and Tano were received by Krim, Fife, and a contingent of guards. Krim intended to personally inspect their cargo, but Tano subtly used a mind trick to influence him into providing their payment, allowing them to depart. However, Fife grew suspicious of Krim's peculiar behavior and forcibly opened the crates himself as the girls were leaving. Discovering them empty, he instructed several Pyke patrol ships to ensnare the Silver Angel in a tractor beam before it could escape.
Following their capture by the Pykes, Ahsoka, Trace, and Rafa were confined while their captors prepared to extract the spice's location through torture. However, after Rafa was interrogated and Trace was removed from their cell, Ahsoka subtly employed the Force to disable the cell's security, aiding the sisters in their escape. The trio managed to subdue several more Pyke guards before Trace and Rafa were ultimately intercepted by Fife and a few additional guards. Upon apprehending them, Fife initiated a communication with Krim, who questioned whether they believed they could successfully deceive a Pyke. Rafa attempted to negotiate for her and her sister's lives by reminding Krim of the spice's location. However, Krim responded by stating that he would torture their friend to obtain the information. Krim then instructed Fife to execute the sisters before terminating the transmission. Unbeknownst to him, the sisters nearly escaped once more with Ahsoka before the three of them were ultimately recaptured and returned to their cell.
Back in confinement, Krim presented Rafa with an ultimatum: settle her debt or witness her friends meet a slow demise. However, Ahsoka interjected and proposed a deal with Krim, feigning indifference towards Trace and Rafa's fates. Krim reiterated his demand for the spice's location, and Ahsoka responded that she was unaware of its whereabouts, only that the sisters had concealed it off-world. She then instructed Krim to grant them one rotation to retrieve the spice. If they failed to do so, she would disclose the location of their family to Krim. Krim inquired as to what Ahsoka would gain from this arrangement, to which Ahsoka replied that she simply desired her share. After contemplating the matter briefly, Krim agreed to the terms. However, he also added that if Trace and Rafa did not return with the spice, he would subject Tano to torture and execution before inflicting the same fate upon the sisters and their family. Once the three of them had departed, Fife informed Krim that this was merely another deception. Krim then revealed that he was aware of this, but that he also had little choice, as his own survival depended on recovering that spice as much as theirs. Fife inquired whether Krim believed Lord Maul would discover this mishap, to which Krim responded that he was certain he would, as he always knows.
Subsequently, Krim was contacted by Maul, whose Shadow Collective the Pyke Syndicate continued to serve. Krim insisted that the current delay would not alter matters and that their operations would proceed as planned. Maul then reminded Krim that he was merely a small component in the mechanism he had designed. Yet, when he faltered, it jeopardized everything. Maul questioned Krim if he understood, to which Krim responded by reminding Maul that the Republic was intensifying its crackdown on his operations. He even cited a specific incident from the previous week when they raided one of his shipments arriving on Coruscant. When Maul inquired whether there were Jedi involved, Krim stated that he was uncertain, as none of his men had survived. Maul then surmised that the answer was affirmative before briefly turning away as he sensed Tano's presence nearby. Turning back to Krim, Maul stated that he had more pressing matters to attend to than the Pyke's incompetence. He then instructed Krim to ensure there were no further delays. However, if there were, he was certain Crimson Dawn would relish the opportunity to seize control of his operation. Once the transmission concluded, Fife informed Krim that Maul pitted members of the Collective against one another, to which Krim conceded that this was an efficient method of managing their type of business. Fife expressed certainty that Maul was aware of the Pykes' reluctance to readily obey his commands. However, Krim then asked Fife if he would like to make that clear to him. Just then, Krim was informed by another Pyke guard of Ahsoka's escape and rushed off with them to apprehend her. Ahsoka managed to locate Maul on Mandalore before being discovered by Krim, who demanded to know her identity. Ahsoka then utilized the Force to fend off the guards, though she was quickly surrounded and compelled to surrender. Realizing she was in fact a Jedi, Krim inquired whether her companions were also Jedi. Ahsoka responded that they were not and that they were unaware of her true identity. Krim threatened that the Jedi Council would regret sending her there and instructed one of his guards to stun her before taking her away.
With his prisoner restrained in stuncuffs, Krim admitted that he wished to thank Ahsoka, as her execution would aid in restoring the Pykes' reputation. Trace and Rafa then entered the room, claiming to have brought the spice. However, Krim stated that he knew the sisters were working for the Republic and Ahsoka, whom he revealed to be a Jedi. Rafa expressed disbelief at this claim, leading Krim to conclude that Ahsoka had deceived them both. Trace asked Ahsoka why she hadn't informed her, to which Ahsoka responded by asking how she could after what they had told her about their parents. Rafa then inquired whether she truly was a Jedi, and Ahsoka explained that she had once been a Jedi before departing. Cutting off their conversation, Krim ordered his guards to execute the three of them. But before they could fire, Ahsoka activated a series of detonators she had previously planted throughout the Pyke Palace. While Krim and his guards were stunned by the explosions, Ahsoka, Trace, and Rafa managed to escape from the palace. Krim ordered his guards to capture them or they would all suffer the consequences. Though unfortunately for Krim, Tano and the sisters would evade capture one last time before finally departing Oba Diah, placing the Pyke in further danger of reprimand from Maul.

As the Clone Wars drew to a close, during the height of the Siege of Mandalore, Maul contacted Krim via hologram, along with Moj and Dryden Vos, the public leader of Crimson Dawn, to instruct them to go into hiding, as Maul had foreseen the imminent collapse of the Republic and the emergence of the Galactic Empire.
Marg Krim's period of leadership over the Pykes was referenced in "Index of Organizations," a survival guide dispatched by Carson Teva during the New Republic Era.
Marg Krim was a male Pyke characterized by purple eyes and verdant skin. As a member of the Pyke species, Krim possessed a tall, humanoid physique with elongated, slender limbs terminating in three digits, standing at a height of 1.91 meters, equivalent to 6 feet and 3 inches. He exhibited a large, elongated head with a tapering skull and a relatively small face. In his capacity as the leader of the Pyke Syndicate, Krim was committed to safeguarding his criminal organization's interests from rival entities such as Black Sun. However, despite his position, he displayed a susceptibility to mind tricks, indicating a degree of mental weakness. Krim aimed to broaden the illicit spice trade and forged agreements with Kessel's elite to smuggle the valuable substance off-world. Due to the intricate internal rivalries and external challenges confronting the Pyke Syndicate, Marg was averse to appearing vulnerable. He held deep affection for his wife, Tezzka, and their two children, Laalee and Vram, and was profoundly distressed by their abduction. Krim harbored distrust towards his own subordinates, as many of them advocated for merging the Pyke Syndicate with Black Sun. As the Illustrious Imperator, he donned a metallic mask that resembled rays of the sun or the plumage of a bird. He employed it to conceal his emotions when interacting with outsiders such as Asajj Ventress and Quinlan Vos. Krim followed the directives of Maul and, at the conclusion of the Clone War, heeded the former Sith Lord's counsel to maintain a low profile.
Marg Krim made his initial appearance as a secondary character in Christie Golden's 2015 novel, Dark Disciple, which was adapted from four incomplete episodes and four unproduced screenplays that constituted a larger narrative arc in the canceled Cartoon Network television series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Dark Disciple is incorporated into the Canon The Clone Wars Legacy, a multimedia endeavor utilizing material from the canceled series.
