Lanupa

Lanupa, alternatively referred to as The Demon's Rest or Battle World, existed as a mountainous and neutral planet situated within the galaxy. It served as the original habitat of the Trash crab, a species of crab known for adorning themselves with discarded technological components. Furthermore, Lanupa housed the Skull Ridge Mountain, which was topped by the Skull Ridge Mountain Hotel & Spa, a location that had previously been a formidable pirate base with cruel acid baths for torture and fighting arenas. SM-33 expressed his strong disapproval of the transformation of the location, lamenting the "ruin!" caused by the presence of luxurious pleasure yachts, a spa, mud baths (sourced from natural hot springs), bacta treatments, and buffet-style meals ("food for weaklings!"). It was also the homeworld of the Trash crab.

During the time of the New Republic Era, the group aboard the Onyx Cinder (Fern, Wim, Neel, KB, the droid SM-33, and Jod Na Nawood) were required to assume different identities because the opulent spa did not permit children: the children posed as the "Most Wise Elders" originating from the Bratric System, while Jod Na Nawood pretended to be the likely Muun Professor Umiam Gorelox.

The Force-sensitive human Jod Na Nawood engaged in the study of Ur-Kittât writing present on a wall, observed by the Myykian Neel, before their discovery of the derelict Captain Rennod's Lair and the subsequent finding of coordinates leading to At Attin.

Nawood's former pirate crew launched an invasion of Lanupa, motivated by a search for Nawood after receiving information from the bounty hunter Pokkit. They successfully captured both Nawood and SM-33, but were forced to evacuate the planet as a group of New Republic X-wing starfighters pursued them, resulting in the destruction of one of the two pirate ships.

In a parallel sequence of events, the Skeleton Crew succeeded in retrieving the Onyx Cinder, however, due to the ship being immobilized by a garbage disposal mechanism, they found it necessary to jettison components from the hull to facilitate their escape and departure from Lanupa.

Behind the scenes

The planet Lanupa was conceived and designed for its inclusion in the live-action series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which is available on Disney+.
