Larin Moxla

Larin Moxla once served as a Republic trooper within the Special Forces of the Republic, specifically in Blackstar Squad during the era of the Cold War. This Kiffar woman was identifiable by her dark hair, green eyes, and the distinctive Clan Moxla markings tattooed upon her cheeks. Her act of informing on her Sergeant, Donbar, led to the unflattering moniker "Toxic Moxla" and her subsequent expulsion from the army. Consequently, she found herself impoverished and residing in the lower levels of Coruscant.

Biography

Early Life

The annexation of Kiffu, her home planet, by the Sith Empire occurred when Larin Moxla was still a young girl.

Moxla's service was with Blackstar Squad, an elite Special Forces unit of the Galactic Republic. During this time, she uncovered the corruption of her commanding officer, Sergeant Donbar, and reported him to higher authorities. While Donbar was relieved of his duties, Larin eventually departed from the unit. While living in Justicar territory on Coruscant, she found herself in a firefight involving the Mandalorian Dao Stryver, where she first encountered Shigar Konshi. Despite the historical animosity between their clans, she found common ground with Shigar.

Mission to Hutta

Larin Moxla was a member of Black Star Squad.

Furthermore, she chose to assist Shigar on a mission to Nal Hutta. Shigar's objective was to gather intelligence about the wreckage of a ship known as the Cinzia. Using disguises, they successfully infiltrated Tassa Bareesh's palace, where the remains of the Cinzia were stored. Konshi and Moxla began their search for the vault containing the wreckage. Later, they discovered Ula Vii's security detail in one of the palace's rooms, after they had been incapacitated by Obah gas in a cantina. The escorts, led by Sergeant Potannin, had been brought to the palace after being found in the cantina. Moxla and Shigar revived Potannin and his escorts, and together they returned to the cantina, only to find that Jet Nebula and Ula Vii were missing. Moxla used her hacking skills to access the palace's security system and pinpoint the location of the envoy and smuggler, who were being held captive by Stryver. Moxla, Potannin, and his squad stormed the location and engaged Stryver, who escaped through the ceiling.

After liberating Vii and Nebula, Moxla deduced that Stryver was heading for the vault where the Cinzia's remains were kept. Moxla, the security team, Vii, and Nebula hurried to the vault. On their way, they encountered Yeama, a Twi'lek majordomo and servant of Bareesh. He demanded that they halt their advance, but Moxla explained that the vault was being targeted. Yeama summoned the palace security forces and the Imperial envoy. By the time they reached the vault, they were accompanied by numerous Gamorrean and Houk guards, along with the Imperial envoy and his retinue.

Inside the vault's antechamber, they found Stryver, Shigar, and a Sith apprentice named Eldon Ax engaged in a three-way battle. The team held back until the vault was breached, releasing unknown droids into the antechamber. Shigar, the Sith, and Stryver shifted their focus to the droids, and Moxla instructed Yeama to gather more guards and heavy weaponry. Yeama returned with a pair of sniper rifles, which he distributed to Moxla and Potannin. Moxla engaged the droids, discovering that their shiny silver surfaces could deflect blaster bolts. She then targeted the weapons on the droids' limbs, allowing Shigar to move in closer. During the conflict, Potannin and several other members of the Republic security team were killed. Eventually, Yeama brought in a heavy blaster turret, which he mounted and began firing at the droids. The droids began redirecting Yeama's shots, causing the vault walls to explode. Moxla attempted to dissuade him, but he refused to listen, forcing Stryver to kill him.

Once the hexes were defeated, Larin set out to locate the Cinzia's navicomputer. However, her attention was drawn to a second, mysterious object within the vault, which she identified as a miniature droid factory. She fired several blaster shots into it and removed a piece. Suddenly, the Sith apprentice slashed her lightsaber across Larin's left hand, severing four of her fingers. As the Sith prepared to deliver the final blow, Envoy Vii handed over the navicomputer, only for Stryver to snatch it from the air. Subsequently, the ceiling collapsed, sending Stryver and the Sith into the palace's lower levels, followed by Shigar. Ula Vii then departed, supposedly to retrieve the Republic shuttle, leaving Larin alone with the smuggler Jet Nebula, a Houk guard, and the last surviving member of Vii's security detail, a Kel Dor soldier named Hetchkee.

Shortly after, another Twi'lek majordomo arrived and escorted Larin, Hetchkee, and Jet Nebula to Encaasa Bareesh's office, where Vii and Shigar were waiting. Shigar revealed that he had agreed to track Stryver for Tassaa Bareesh in exchange for their release. Bareesh had agreed, and Jet Nebula was to transport them on his ship, the Auriga Fire. Along with Hetchkee, Vii, and Shigar, Larin boarded the Auriga Fire with Nebula and his combat droid, Clunker. There, Shigar revealed that he had taken a sliver of one of the hexes' skins and intended to use psychometry to analyze it. Larin encouraged him to proceed. While he was occupied, Larin assisted Envoy Vii in removing her damaged glove, which was stuck to the burnt remnants of her fingers. After removing the glove, they replaced her fingers with a rudimentary paddle and glove, allowing her to grip objects, albeit with limited dexterity.

Battle of Sebaddon

Eventually, after a strained exchange between Shigar and Larin, the Jedi Padawan managed to analyze the sliver and pinpoint the hexes' planet of origin, a world called Sebaddon. The Auriga Fire arrived in the Sebaddon system and discovered that the planet orbited a black hole instead of a star. With Clunker's assistance, Nebula navigated carefully around the black hole and rendezvoused with a Republic fleet. Before they could board the Corellia, Master Satele Shan's command ship, Sebaddon launched missiles armed with hex droids. The Corellia was destroyed, and Shigar initiated a rescue mission for the stranded crewmen, during which Larin manned the Auriga Fire's port turbolaser.

After Shigar rescued Master Shan, Dao Stryver revealed himself and his ship, the First Blood. He requested an immediate meeting with them and the Imperials aboard his ship. Accompanied by Shigar, Vii, and Shan, Larin boarded the First Blood, where they were greeted by Stryver, the Sith apprentice Eldon Ax, and her bodyguards. Stryver revealed that the hexes would spread across the galaxy and conquer it within a generation, necessitating a temporary alliance to destroy the droids and their factories. Envoy Vii accompanied Ax to persuade her Master, Darth Chratis, to agree to the alliance, and Larin offered to accompany them for protection, but Vii declined. Upon their return, they announced that Chratis had agreed to the alliance.

The Auriga Fire landed on Captain Pipalidi's ship, the Commenor, to discuss strategy. While there, Vii suggested to Pipalidi that Larin and Hetchkee be promoted to the rank of lieutenant, although Larin mistakenly believed that Shigar had made the suggestion. Major Cha, one of Pipalidi's officers, escorted Larin and Hetchkee to the armory, where they selected weapons and armor for the upcoming battle. Before the battle commenced, Larin confronted Shigar and kissed him, but he confessed that he did not reciprocate her feelings. Embarrassed, Shigar left the room, and Larin berated herself for her foolishness. Hetchkee inquired about her distress, but she dismissed it as nerves and prepared for combat. To distinguish rank, Larin, Hetchkee, and the other lieutenants were given green markings, while majors had orange, sergeants had blue, and troopers had black.

As Independent Operation Sebaddon commenced, Larin boarded an Imperial shuttle along with Hetchkee, Major Cha, an Imperial lieutenant named Ozz, and a Zabrak Republic soldier named Ses Jopp, who criticized her for informing on her superior. In retaliation, Larin suggested that Jopp be assigned to the front lines to his sergeant. During the drop, Larin lost two men immediately. As their jets deployed, Larin was thrown off course, and Jopp was the closest soldier to her. The Zabrak hesitated initially, but as he reached for her, she fell beyond his reach, only to be rescued by Hetchkee.

During the battle, Larin and Jopp were stranded atop a flying factory along with several other soldiers. They became friends during this time and managed to escape when the command grid was shut down. The operation concluded with the destruction of all the hexes and the death of Darth Chratis. Larin returned to Coruscant and, along with Hetchkee, was permitted to retain her lieutenant rank. She contemplated forming a Special Forces squad composed of Sebaddon survivors, including Ses Jopp. She parted ways with Shigar, who had been Knighted by the Jedi Council, on amicable terms, and she considered pursuing a romantic relationship with him while remaining friends with Ula Vii.
