Leeha Faal was a Captain, specifically a Keshiri female, who commanded the frigate Winged Dagger, a ChaseMaster class vessel. She was under the authority of Sarasu Taalon, the High Lord. During the time when the Sith fleet formed an alliance with Luke Skywalker and his offspring, Ben, to destroy Abeloth located in the Maw, she participated in these events. The Sith and Jedi group journeyed to the Maw after a time spent on Klatooine, eventually discovering Abeloth's planet. It was there that Luke Skywalker convinced the Sith to attempt a Mind Walk beyond shadows to find Abeloth. While navigating beyond shadows, Faal lost her footing and was pulled into the Depths of Eternity by enemies from her past, resulting in her death.
Leeha Faal, a Force-sensitive Keshiri female, was born on the planet of Kesh. Progressing through the ranks of the Sith armada, she became second in command to High Lord Sarasu Taalon aboard the ChaseMaster frigate Black Wave. In this role, she accompanied Taalon and ten additional frigates to confront Luke Skywalker above Dathomir. The purpose was to establish a formal alliance with Skywalker and his son, Ben, to eliminate Abeloth, a being of the dark side, within the Maw. However, the true intention of the Sith was to subjugate Abeloth and then kill the Skywalkers.
Luke Skywalker suggested they collaborate with Lando Calrissian and his asteroid tug, known as the Rockhound, for assistance in traversing the Maw. The Sith concurred, opting to await Calrissian's arrival on the planet Klatooine. While there, Faal discovered the sacred Fountain of the Ancients and shared this discovery with Taalon. Taalon, captivated and driven by a desire for the Fountain, devised a strategy to obtain samples of the Fountain's wintrium. Eventually, the Sith and Jedi decided to depart, arranging for Calrissian to rendezvous with them shortly before entering the Maw. Taalon persuaded Skywalker to permit him to leave behind two ships, ostensibly to await Calrissian's arrival. Skywalker agreed, and Taalon subsequently appointed Faal as Captain of the Winged Dagger, replacing Syndor. He then instructed her to acquire wintrium from the Fountain.
After the Jedi and the remaining Sith had exited the system, Faal relayed her orders to Vyn Holpur, the Captain of the other Sith frigate, the Starstalker, which had been left behind. Holpur initiated the attack, but the Sith were ultimately thwarted by the arrival of several Hutt ships, which attacked the Starstalker and surrounded the Winged Dagger. Subsequently, Calrissian arrived, accompanied by Jedi Knight Jaina Solo, who were called upon to mediate the situation. Faal asserted that Holpur and his crew had acted independently, without authorization. Despite Calrissian and Solo's skepticism, there was no evidence to contradict her account, as Holpur corroborated her story. Consequently, Holpur and his crew were sentenced to death, and Faal and the crew of the Winged Dagger accompanied Calrissian and Solo aboard the Rockhound to rejoin the rest of the fleet outside the Maw.
Following the discovery that their initial destination within the Maw, Sinkhole Station, had been destroyed, the Sith and Jedi convoy resolved to proceed directly to Abeloth's planet. Upon arrival, Luke Skywalker convinced the Sith to engage in a Mind Walk to venture beyond shadows and locate Abeloth. Taalon selected Faal and a Sith Saber, Gavar Khai, to accompany him. Guided by Skywalker, they entered the Lake of Apparitions. During their walk, Faal lost her footing and fell to her hands and knees. As she attempted to stand, she was suddenly assailed by the hands of her long-deceased adversaries and rivals. Taalon attempted to assist her, but Khai restrained him, recognizing that it was too late as Faal was dragged into the Depths of Eternity, resulting in her demise.
Humans](/article/human-legends) and Keshiri alike considered Leeha Faal to possess significant beauty. She had short, black hair that framed her face, a slender physique, and the purple skin characteristic of the Keshiri race. She maintained a close relationship with High Lord Taalon, whom she served faithfully as his second in command. She later lied about her involvement in the attack on the Fountain of the Ancients, which led to the death sentence for Holpur and his crew. Faal felt embarrassed following her stumble in the Lake of Apparitions, but her embarrassment quickly turned to terror as the hands of her past enemies began to pull her under the water, and she desperately pleaded for Taalon's help.
Leeha Faal's first appearance was in Fate of the Jedi: Allies, which is the fifth novel in the Fate of the Jedi series and the second installment written by Christie Golden.
