Syndor was a Sith male, as defined in legends, who held the rank of captain aboard the frigate known as the Winged Dagger. This vessel was part of the armada belonging to the Lost Tribe of Sith. The year 44 ABY found him serving under the High Lord Sarasu Taalon. Taalon had formed an alliance with Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker for a mission: to vanquish the dark side entity Abeloth. However, the Sith's true intention was to betray Skywalker and subjugate Abeloth to their will. During this mission, Taalon reassigned Syndor, giving Leeha Faal command of the ship. Taalon instructed Faal to orchestrate a raid on a sacred fountain located on Klatooine. Faal then delegated the actual execution of this order to the frigate Starstalker.
The raid achieved its objective, but the Hutts, bound by the Treaty of Vontor to safeguard the fountain, captured both ships. Since the Winged Dagger wasn't directly involved in the assault, Syndor, Faal, and the rest of the crew were allowed to leave. Eventually, the fleet made its way to Abeloth's planet in the Maw. There, Skywalker, Faal, Taalon, and Saber Gavar Khai separated their minds from their physical bodies to travel beyond shadows, hoping to find Abeloth. However, Faal died during this process, and her brain activity ceased aboard the Winged Dagger. Sumar informed Syndor of these events, which led to his reinstatement as commander of the ship. He then directed the crew to remove Faal from life support and await further instructions from Taalon. Ultimately, the Sith and Jedi located Abeloth, but the Sith's treachery failed, and Skywalker successfully defeated the dark side being. Subsequently, the Sith fleet was ordered to depart from the planet.

Syndor was a male individual, sensitive to the Force, who was born on the Wild Space planet of Kesh. Being a member of the Lost Tribe of Sith, who were descendants of a group of Sith isolated on Kesh for 5,000 years, Syndor became part of the Tribe's Sith armada following its creation in 41 ABY. By 44 ABY, he had risen to the rank of captain of the ChaseMaster frigate named Winged Dagger. During that year, he was selected to accompany a task force of eleven ChaseMasters. This task force was under the command of Sarasu Taalon, a Keshiri High Lord. Their mission was to feign an alliance with Luke Skywalker, the exiled Jedi Grand Master, to locate Abeloth, a dark side entity. Abeloth was believed to be causing psychosis among the Knights of the Jedi Order. In reality, the Sith intended to betray the Jedi and force Abeloth into servitude. Syndor and the armada intercepted Skywalker near Dathomir and successfully convinced him to join their alliance for the mission, falsely claiming their goal was to defeat Abeloth and prevent the spread of the psychosis.
The fleet first made a stop at Klatooine in the Si'Klaata Cluster to await the arrival of Lando Calrissian, a friend of Skywalker. Calrissian was expected to bring the Rockhound, a Colossus I Beta Series asteroid tug, to assist them in navigating the Maw, where Abeloth resided. Eventually, the allies decided to depart Klatooine and wait for Calrissian just outside the Maw. However, Taalon persuaded Skywalker to allow two frigates to remain behind in case of unforeseen circumstances. The Winged Dagger was one of these two frigates, but the High Lord reassigned command of the ship to his close friend, Leeha Faal, a Keshiri Sith. Syndor was made her second in command. Syndor feigned acceptance of this demotion when Faal assumed her position aboard the Winged Dagger, but she suspected he was plotting against her. After the rest of the allied fleet left Klatooine, Faal relayed Taalon's orders to raid the sacred Fountain of the Ancients on the planet, tasking the Starstalker, the other ChaseMaster that remained behind, with carrying out the raid.
The raid was a success, and samples of wintrium, the glass-like substance composing the Fountain, were obtained. However, both the Winged Dagger and the Starstalker were captured by a task force of Hutts, who were obligated by the Treaty of Vontor to protect the Fountain. Syndor, Faal, and the crews of both Sith ships were then put on trial before Calrissian and Jaina Solo, a Jedi Knight, who had recently arrived in the star system. The Treaty of Vontor stipulated that trials concerning potential violations of the Treaty must be judged by at least two offworlders, as both the Klatooinians and the Hutts had vested interests in the outcome. During the trial, Faal claimed that the crew of the Starstalker had acted independently when they attacked the Fountain. Despite Solo and Calrissian's suspicion that she was lying, they lacked evidence and could only convict the Starstalker's crew of damaging the sacred Fountain.

Calrissian, Solo, and the crew of the Winged Dagger then departed Klatooine and rejoined the rest of the allied fleet just outside of the Maw. After a brief stop at Sinkhole Station, the space station where Skywalker had first encountered Abeloth, only to find it destroyed, they proceeded to Abeloth's planet. There, Skywalker, Taalon, Faal, and the Sith Saber Gavar Khai separated their minds from their bodies to walk beyond shadows. This realm of the Force consisted of locations mirroring real places on Abeloth's world, and their goal was to locate Abeloth. Syndor, in the meantime, remained on board the Winged Dagger, where Faal's body was being monitored. While beyond shadows, Faal was pulled into the Depths of Eternity, a place from which rescue was impossible. Back on the ship, her brain activity ceased.
Sumar, the female Sith attending Faal, informed Syndor of these events, confirming his resumption of command of the ship. Syndor then ordered Faal to be removed from life support and instructed the crew to await further orders from Taalon. Although they failed to locate Abeloth while beyond shadows, the Sith and Jedi eventually found and battled the dark side entity. Despite the Sith's attempt to betray the Jedi, Skywalker defeated Abeloth. Subsequently, Taalon and Skywalker agreed to send Calrissian, Solo, and the entire Sith fleet, including Syndor and the Winged Dagger, offworld while they continued their investigation of Abeloth.
After being demoted and placed under Leeha Faal's command, Syndor acted as if he was unaffected by the change and dutifully followed her orders. However, Faal suspected that he was plotting to overthrow her. On Abeloth's planet, following the sudden cessation of Faal's brain activity, Syndor ordered his crew to terminate her life support and return to their stations, awaiting further instructions from Taalon. Syndor was pleased by Faal's death and did not conceal his delight from his crew.
As a Force-sensitive member of the Lost Tribe from Kesh, Syndor was trained in the ways of the Sith. He was entrusted with the command of the ChaseMaster frigate Winged Dagger. Syndor was also considered exceptionally powerful, as only the strongest Sith in the Tribe were chosen to accompany High Lord Sarasu Taalon on his mission. Despite this, Taalon demoted Syndor and replaced him with his close friend Leeha Faal, allowing her to personally oversee the execution of his orders to raid the Fountain.
Syndor's first appearance was in Fate of the Jedi: Allies, the fifth novel in the Fate of the Jedi series. This novel was written by Christie Golden and released on May 25, 2010.
