Merokia, a planet characterized by its desert environment, existed in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy, specifically in grid square J-18 of the Standard Galactic Grid, situated close to the Unknown Regions. This planet was populated during the time of the New Republic era. The Force-sensitive human named Karr Nuq Sin originated from Merokia, making it his homeworld.
In the time of the High Republic Era, Merokia was once an ally of E'ronoh; however, they severed their relationship when the conflict of the Eiram and E'ronoh War broke out once more.
The initial depiction of Merokia occurred in the junior novel Force Collector, which was released in 2019 and authored by Kevin Shinick. The planet's designation originates from Meroke, a term used to identify the Native American population native to the region that evolved into Merrick, New York, Shinick's place of origin and the source of the town's name.
