Moteé was a human female. During the final days of the Clone Wars, she functioned as a member of the Naboo Royal Handmaidens, tasked with the protection of Padmé Amidala.
This human female from Naboo, who would become known as Moteé, completed her studies at the political academy located in Theed in 22 BBY. In that year, prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo was targeted in an assassination plot. During the initial attempt on her life on Coruscant, the Republic's [capital](/article/capital] planet, two of Amidala's three handmaidens, Cordé and Versé, were killed. In the subsequent search for replacements, Amidala and her surviving handmaiden, Dormé, determined that the new recruits would serve more in the capacity of Senatorial aides, leading Dormé to focus her search in that direction.
While Amidala privately recovered on Naboo following the Battle of Geonosis, Dormé conducted interviews with several candidates, ultimately choosing two: Elleen, previously an aide to Governor of Naboo Sio Bibble, and Moteé. Upon accepting their positions, Moteé and Elleen chose to uphold the tradition set by their predecessors in Amidala's service by altering their names to resemble Amidala's; Elleen became Ellé.
During the war, Moteé learned of Amidala's relationship with Anakin Skywalker, and disapproved, believing it was an unwise decision on the senator's part. She accompanied Amidala and Dormé on a diplomatic mission to the planet Clabron, but upon their arrival, the group was ambushed. Moteé was struck in the shoulder by a sniper bolt fired by the Frenk assassin Lis Mohles. They sought refuge within a building, where Amidala successfully negotiated an agreement with Second Minister Tarmin. Subsequently, they launched a counter-ambush against the assassin, capturing her to resolve the situation and return to Coruscant.
Moteé was present at the Senate session where Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine declared the reorganization of the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire.
Moteé possessed brown hair, brown eyes, and a light complexion. She was known for her discretion, particularly in safeguarding the secret of the relationship between Amidala and the Jedi Anakin Skywalker.
Kristy Wright, an actress from Australia, portrayed Moteé in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith (2005), the concluding film of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The character's name appeared in the end credits of the film.
In Star Wars: The Prequel Trilogy – A Graphic Novel, the speech bubble containing Palpatine's announcement regarding the transformation of the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire is mistakenly directed at her.
Unlike the other Naboo Royal Handmaidens who appear in E. K. Johnston's Padmé trilogy—Queen's Shadow, Queen's Peril, and Queen's Hope—Moteé's original name is not mentioned.
