Ra-Lee

Ra-Lee, an Ewok of female gender, resided on Endor, specifically its Forest Moon. She became the spouse of Chirpa, who held the position of chief within Bright Tree Village, sometime after the year 0 BBY.

Biography

Before 1 BBY, Ra-Lee's life began on Endor. At some point, she encountered Chirpa, the son of the chief, and a romantic connection formed between them. On one occasion, during a borra hunting expedition, Ra-Lee urged her lover to cease his complaints and sound the borra horn, emphasizing that Chukha-Trok had signaled long ago. Chirpa replied that he was about to do so, and that everyone would believe that it was her hunt, not his. She then inquired if he was prepared to capture the borra, to which he confirmed. Together, they jumped onto the borra, and as Chirpa initiated his attack, she questioned his actions. He explained that the borra was deviating from the intended path, potentially causing them to miss Chukha's trap. He guided the borra towards the trap, and Ra-Lee suggested they prompt the borra to jump closer, but Chirpa deemed it premature. Ultimately, they successfully forced the borra into the trap.

Following the successful capture and defeat of the large borra, they anticipated a hero's welcome upon their return to Bright Tree Village, but their expectations were unmet. As they approached, she inquired about the unusual silence in the village. Chirpa informed his father of their successful hunt, but Buzza indicated that he was preoccupied with more pressing matters. Chief Buzza and Shaman Makrit were engaged in a discussion regarding woklings that had been abducted from their beds during the night. She inquired about the subject of their conversation, and after observing the unfolding events, she proposed that the Duloks were responsible, as no other party would commit such a crime. Buzza concurred, but Makrit dissented. Buzza attempted to reason with Makrit, but Makrit took control of him, causing Buzza to suggest that the woklings had likely run away and that they would conduct a search the following morning. Ra-Lee grew suspicious and questioned Chirpa about when his father had begun taking orders from Makrit, to which he responded that Makrit was the shaman and possessed superior knowledge. However, Logray disagreed and asserted that the Duloks were responsible, advocating for a rescue mission to save the woklings.

As they neared the Dulok territory, Ra-Lee expressed shock at the deserted state of the village, prompting speculation among the others about a potential attack by a giant creature known as a condor dragon. However, Ra-Lee discovered tracks that suggested otherwise, identifying them as belonging to a species of monster. Suddenly, a Dulok ambushed her, brandishing a spear, much to Chirpa's dismay. He demanded the Dulok release Ra-Lee, but they refused, declaring that she and the others would be sacrificed. When Chirpa inquired about the intended recipient of the sacrifice, the Dulok's mind went blank due to the sunstar. Chirpa was perplexed, but it was revealed that Makrit had followed Logray and owed Buzza an apology, as the Duloks had been involved in the kidnapping.

The Dulok denied any involvement in the situation, claiming that a "great one" had arrived and destroyed their village, necessitating a sacrifice to prevent its return from beyond the Salma Sands, at the base of Mount Krana. Ra-Lee declared that they would go there, delivering a punch to the Dulok's face and breaking him from his trance. Upon being informed by Chirpa, she attacked the Dulok, vowing to inflict further damage and emphasizing the need to save the woklings. She then forced the Dulok to the ground, repeatedly jumping on his face.

Subsequently, they all journeyed to Mount Krana. Upon discovering the woklings, Ra-Lee asserted that the only way to free them was to cut their ropes. As Logray, Chirpa, and Ra-Lee entered to free the woklings, Makrit locked them inside, revealing that he had orchestrated the kidnapping of the woklings as a sacrifice for the Gorax. Logray instructed Ra-Lee to use her ax to cut them free. Ra-Lee responded that they lacked sufficient time and retrieved the borra horn, prompting Chirpa to contemplate its purpose. Ra-Lee blew into it, and Logray declared he thinks he knows the answer. Several borras arrived, and Ra-Lee instructed everyone to load the woklings onto the borras, which they did. They then began their return to Bright Tree Village, with Ra-Lee continuously blowing the borra horn and Logray bidding a final farewell to his master, as he was consumed by the Gorax.

Ra-Lee later married Chirpa, who succeeded his father as Chief of Bright Tree Village's Council of Elders. They eventually had a daughter together, named Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka. Kneesaa followed in her father's footsteps and also became the chief of Bright Tree Village.

Legacy

Years following the wokling incident, Lina Graf's crew found themselves stranded on Mustafar after their ship, the Auric, was destroyed. The technician, Skritt, expressed fear and admitted to XM-G3 that he lacked bravery. G3 advised him to summon his "bravery circuits," which Skritt declined. G3 then decided to narrate "The Legend of the Gorax." Skritt initially hesitated but eventually agreed when G3 suggested it would help him become braver. After hearing the story, Skritt claimed it was unhelpful due to Makrit's death, but G3 was killed shortly afterward. The story did have an impact on Skritt, as he ultimately learned and became braver, ultimately saving his friends, as acknowledged by Lina Graf.
