Ragnar Vizsla

A human male Mandalorian named Ragnar Vizsla, the Foundling offspring of Paz Vizsla, became a member of the Mandalorian sect known as the Children of the Watch under the leadership of "the Armorer," a woman, sometime after 9 ABY. Shortly after his initiation, Grogu, another foundling, bested him during a sparring session. Their training was cut short when a massive shriek-hawk seized Ragnar. The shriek-hawk devoured Ragnar in one gulp before attempting to feed him to its young. Bo-Katan Kryze, along with Paz Vizsla and Din Djarin, led a search party that successfully rescued Ragnar from the creature's nest a day later. Subsequently, Ragnar relocated to the planet Nevarro alongside the rest of the covert.

Ragnar, together with his fellow covert members and Kryze's group, journeyed back to Mandalore. There, he successfully underwent the ritual that was previously disrupted by a lake monster in the waters near the Mandalorian covert's location. He was later present for the reactivation of the Great Forge, an event he celebrated with all the other Mandalorians.

Behind the scenes

The initial appearance of Ragnar Vizsla occurred in "Chapter 17: The Apostate", which served as the premiere episode of The Mandalorian season three, released on March 1, 2023. Wesley Kimmel played the role of the character, having previously portrayed a Tusken Raider child in The Book of Boba Fett. Jon Favreau, the executive producer, and the production team were highly impressed with Kimmel's performance and decided to give him the opportunity to showcase his face in a different Star Wars project. Kimmel found it challenging to keep his involvement in the project a secret for an entire year. On March 1, 2023, he took to Instagram to announce his guest starring role in The Mandalorian. According to "Embodying Vizsla," an article penned by Jay Stobie in Star Wars Insider 223, his last name is confirmed as Vizsla.
