Unidentified Tusken Raider youngling

A male child of the Tusken Raider species was a member of a tribe dwelling in Tatooine's Dune Sea. Boba Fett, the bounty hunter who had fallen, was held as a prisoner by this tribe, and the youngling kept watch over him, even striking him upon their initial encounter. Fett's attempted escape from the tribe's camp was thwarted by the young Tusken's efforts, although the older Tuskens ultimately recaptured him.

Later, the Tusken youngling, accompanied by his massiff pet, escorted Fett and a Rodian prisoner into the desert. They witnessed the Kintan Striders Gang assaulting a moisture farm. Subsequently, the child commanded his two captives to unearth black melons. However, a sand beast emerged, killing the Rodian. During the ensuing conflict, the youngling fled, only for Fett to slay the beast. This act earned Fett acceptance into the tribe, leading him to impart combat skills to the Tuskens for their defense against the intruding Pyke Syndicate.

Some time later, after Fett's vision quest, the youngling alerted the tribe to his return and observed his interaction with the Tusken chieftain and a Tusken warrior. The child then guided Fett to a nearby Tusken workshop, where the former bounty hunter fashioned his own gaderffii stick. After Fett's visit to the boss of the Pyke Syndicate's Tatooine operations, the syndicate launched a massacre against the Tusken tribe. Discovering the tribe's destruction, Fett cremated their remains and burned the child's small gaderffii stick.

Biography

Child of the sand

Boba Fett stumbling while the youngling leads him and the Rodian

The Tusken Raider male youngling was a member of a Tusken Raider tribe that made their home in the Dune Sea of the desert planet Tatooine. Around 4 ABY, following the defeat of the renowned bounty hunter Boba Fett at the Great Pit of Carkoon and his subsequent capture by Tuskens, the child, along with other Tusken children, examined the restrained Fett and proceeded to strike the prisoner with sticks. That night, the bound Fett was left near a fireplace, watched over by the youngling's massiff and with the youngling standing guard. When Fett managed to break free, a Rodian prisoner who was tied up next to him alerted the tribe. The child then charged at the escaped captive, wielding his stick and yelling. Fett knocked the Tusken child down and took his stick, choosing not to strike the startled Tusken before fleeing the camp as other Tuskens arrived, alerted by the youngling's cries. The Tusken Raiders quickly managed to recapture Fett.

The following morning, the child woke Fett and the Rodian, untying them. He guided the prisoners and the massiff across Tatooine's dunes, pulling Fett as he struggled to walk due to his weakened state. The group arrived at a moisture farm that was being raided by the Kintan Striders Gang, a group of Nikto speed bikers. As a result, the child changed course and led them to a different location to dig for black melons.

The youngling poured out the milk from Fett's black melon.

Once they arrived, the Tusken youngling instructed Fett and the Rodian to dig for the melons. While the Rodian obeyed immediately, Fett struggled to understand the Tusken's instructions. After figuring out what the child wanted, Fett began digging under the watchful eyes of the Tusken and the massiff. When Fett tried to drink from a melon, the young Tusken angrily struck at him with his stick. Fett caught the stick and insisted he needed to drink. The youngling took the black melon from his prisoner and proceeded to pour its milk out for his massiff. Later, as the child slept beside the massiff, he was awakened by a sand beast that the Rodian prisoner had unearthed. The Tusken watched in shock as the sand beast targeted the Rodian before launching the massiff over the youngling's head after the smaller creature attacked it.

While the sand beast killed the Rodian and held Fett up, the Tusken child attempted to fight the creature by stabbing it in the foot with his small gaderffii stick. However, the creature struck him and threw him back. The sand beast then focused on the youngling, who frantically fled as the creature chased him. Fett pursued the beast and used his chains to strangle it to death. Seeing the creature dead, the youngling shouted with excitement. The Tusken child, Fett, and the massiff returned to the camp, with the youngling carrying the severed head of the creature as a trophy and shouting excitedly. He presented the trophy to the older Tuskens, who gathered around him as the child acted out the fight. The adult Tuskens congratulated the child with cheers and celebratory pats.

Train spotting

Fett gained acceptance from the tribe and began living among them. Around 5 ABY, the Tuskens came into conflict with a repulsor train operated by the Pyke Syndicate, which fired on the tribe as it passed through the Dune Sea. Fett devised a plan to stop the train, which involved teaching the tribe members various skills, such as riding speeder bikes. He also taught the child to use a mirror to reflect sunlight from Tatooine's two suns as a signal to the rest of the tribe when the train approached.

Later, the tribe went to dig for more black melons in the dunes when the Pyke repulsor train returned. Alerted to the train's arrival, the child began running towards his designated position atop a large dune. As he ran, he used his mirror to signal other Tuskens positioned further along the train's route to surprise the Pykes. Fett and a group of Tuskens were able to stop the repulsor train and send its Pyke personnel back to their superiors with a warning.

Fett's integration

The Tusken chieftain later sent Fett on a vision quest, which led him to a wortwood tree. The following day, the youngling was sitting with his massiff, cracking nuts into a bucket, when the massiff alerted him to someone approaching. The youngling realized it was Fett, carrying a large branch from the wortwood tree. He alerted the rest of the tribe to Fett's return before rushing to Fett and jumping excitedly. The youngling watched Fett's exchange with the tribe's chieftain and a Tusken warrior before being led into one of the tribe's tents. When Fett emerged, the chieftain gestured for the youngling to lead the man across the dunes to a workshop at a wreck site, where a Tusken craftsman helped Fett craft a gaderffii stick from the wortwood branch.

Some time later, Fett left the camp on a bantha to negotiate protection fees with the boss of the Pyke Syndicate on Tatooine. The Tusken youngling watched Fett leave for the Pyke's headquarters at the Mos Eisley spaceport, with Fett nodding at the child as he departed. However, while Fett was away, the Pyke boss sent his forces to destroy the Tusken tribe. The Pykes massacred the Tuskens, including the youngling, and left the Kintan Striders' emblem to frame them. Upon Fett's return, he cremated and mourned the fallen Tuskens, burning the youngling's small gaderffii stick in a fire. Fett later sought revenge on the Kintan Striders in 9 ABY, believing they were responsible for the massacre, but he eventually learned that the Pykes were the true culprits. Fett ultimately fought and defeated the syndicate in the battle, forcing them to abandon Tatooine.

Personality and traits

The youngling carrying the sand creature's head in triumph

The youngling exhibited sadistic tendencies, such as striking Fett when he was a helpless prisoner and pouring the contents of a black melon onto the ground for his massiff instead of allowing Fett to drink. When Fett drank water from a black melon, the youngling became aggressive and tried to strike the human with his stick.

When the sand beast attacked the child and his prisoners, the child was initially shocked and froze but then attacked the beast when it lashed out at the youngling's massiff. After Fett defeated the Tatooine sand beast, the child returned with its head, triumphantly recounting the story to the other Tuskens. Following Fett's acceptance by the tribe, the child became excited whenever he returned to the camp, even jumping with excitement upon Fett's return from his vision quest. The Tusken youngling communicated in Tusken.

Equipment

The youngling wore dark brown robes covering his torso, a tan headwrap concealing his face, tan gloves, dark brown pants, and a tube-like accessory around his neck. He also had a red pouch and a dirty white towel on his chest. The youngling used a small gaderffii stick, similar to the larger ones used by adult Tuskens. During the attack on the Pyke Syndicate's repulsortrain, he used a small mirror to signal other Tuskens by reflecting sunlight.

Behind the scenes
