Coruscant Incident
The Coruscant Incident unfolded during the Galactic Empire's era, specifically years into its dominance. It involved a pursuit across Coruscant featuring two renegade members of the Inquisitorius being hunted by Darth Vader.
Prelude
While engaged in the hunt for the former Jedi Master, Eeth Koth, the Inquisitor known as the Thirteenth Sister permitted Eeth Koth's daughter to flee alongside her mother, Mira. When questioned by her fellow Inquisitorius members, she claimed she hadn't intentionally allowed the child's escape, and further demonstrated her power by using the Force to snatch the infant from her mother's grasp. Subsequently, she and the other Inquisitors returned to the Inquisitorius Headquarters with the child.
She celebrated the successful mission with Tualon Yaluna, an acquaintance. Their conversation was disrupted by the arrival of Darth Vader, who activated his lightsaber. Upon discovering a bond between the two Inquisitors, Vader attempted to eliminate them, asserting that they should have learned from Eeth Koth's death about the dangers of attachments. However, Tualon deflected Vader's attack with his own lightsaber. He urged Akaris to flee while he confronted Vader. Despite Vader's offer for him to remain, he declined and escaped.
The chase
The two disloyal Inquisitors fled from the headquarters, during which Tualon revealed his feelings for Akaris. They both resolved to assassinate Darth Vader to secure their freedom, and they commandeered an approaching speeder. Concurrently, Darth Vader, accompanied by two Imperial shock troopers, was also in a speeder, actively searching for the fugitive Inquisitors. During their patrol, the Inquisitors struck their speeder with their lightsabers, causing a catastrophic explosion. Vader then transferred to another speeder, which was also swiftly destroyed. Simultaneously, in a nearby park, Senator Maklooq was enjoying a beverage when the falling speeder crashed down and killed her. Returning to the pursuit, the rogue Inquisitors employed the Force to hurl another speeder toward Vader, but he intercepted it and redirected it back at them. Vader began to leap from one speeder to another, while the Inquisitors continued to launch objects in his direction. A collapsing statue struck Vader, causing him to fall onto the balcony of a nearby structure.
The Inquisitors jumped down and were surprised to see that they had beaten Darth Vader. They both ignited their lightsabers but before they could strike Vader down, he stopped their blades with the Force. Vader started to redirect the lightsabers back at the Inquisitors. When they realized what was happening, they said their last goodbyes to each other and their lightsabers stabbed them, killing them both.
Aftermath
At the Imperial Palace, Darth Vader reported the incident to his master, Darth Sidious. He was angry at Vader for causing destruction in the city and the death of an important senator but was pleased that he eliminated the traitors. The Emperor had a gift for Vader, the Naboo Royal Starship of Padmé Amidala. Vader accepted the gift but refused to do the Emperor's next task, to his master's surprise. Darth Vader asked for a planet of his own. Sidious agreed and offered many planets that he thought would fit Vader but Vader instead wanted the lava world of Mustafar. A record of the events was archived within the Imperial Archives under the title "Coruscant Incident—Senator Maklooq". This record was referenced by historian Beaumont Kin in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, published in 35 ABY, providing a brief account of the chase.
