Rogun Matt'rik

Rogun Matt'rik, more infamously known as Rogun the Butcher, was a male Chagrian. He held a prominent position as a leading crime lord within the galactic criminal network during both the Cold War period and the subsequent Galactic War.

Biography

Following the imprisonment of his mentor, Ivory, on the planet Belsavis, Rogun inherited Ivory's extensive criminal organization. Three defining characteristics set him apart: he always maintained a stake in every venture, he never retreated from confrontation, and he enforced a strict policy of zero tolerance for any form of failure.

In the year 3643 BBY, Rogun became embroiled in a conflict between Skavak and the individual known as the Voidhound. This involvement stemmed from Skavak's theft of a shipment of weapons intended for Rogun. Despite the Voidhound's attempts to place blame solely on Skavak, Rogun remained unforgiving and relentlessly deployed numerous bounty hunters in pursuit of the smuggler, but none of these attempts proved successful.

One year later, Rogun's operatives located the Voidhound at Port Nowhere. Communicating via a holographic transmission, Rogun directly addressed the smuggler for the first time, publicly announcing a bounty on the Voidhound's head. This declaration effectively incited every petty criminal within earshot to attempt to claim the reward. The Voidhound not only survived this encounter but also liberated Rogun's captives, Darmas Pollaran and Senator Bevera Dodonna, unaware that these two were secretly plotting against the Galactic Republic. Pollaran, an agent working for Imperial Intelligence, informed the Voidhound that Rogun served as the right-hand man of the Voidwolf, and that their objective should be to kill Rogun and seize control of his criminal empire as a means of reaching the Voidwolf.

On Tatooine, Rogun was compelled to set aside past grievances and collaborate with the smuggler who had been a persistent annoyance for more than two years.

Rogun dispatched Languss Tuno to Hoth with the specific mission to eliminate the smuggler. However, Tuno, after experiencing mistreatment at the hands of Shai Tenna, concluded that defecting from Rogun and joining the Voidhound's crew would be more advantageous. The Voidhound, unaware of Rogun's support for the Republic, decided to approach the mission with greater seriousness after rescuing Dodonna from another of Rogun's bounty hunters. The Voidhound then tracked down Ivory on Belsavis and successfully rescued him from Rogun's most skilled hunter, Dust. From Ivory, the smuggler obtained information regarding Rogun's safehouses and subsequently disrupted Rogun's cyberbeast smuggling operation on Voss. In response to these events, Rogun summoned all of his remaining lieutenants to his secure location on Tatooine.

Upon being confronted by the Voidhound, Rogun accused the smuggler of betraying the Republic, a claim that confused the smuggler. Suddenly, two Pureblood Sith, named Chane and Desora, interrupted the meeting, projecting a hologram of the Voidwolf, who ridiculed the Voidhound's ignorance. The Admiral revealed that Pollaran and Dodonna were actually working for the Voidwolf. Rogun, in reality, was a supporter of the Republic and was the only obstacle preventing the Voidwolf from uniting the galactic underworld under the control of the Sith Empire.

Overlooking their past animosity, the Voidhound and Rogun cooperated to survive and successfully eliminated both of the Sith. As a gesture of gratitude for saving his life, Rogun agreed to forgive their previous conflicts. The Voidhound then negotiated an agreement with Rogun to eliminate the Voidwolf, and the two decided to continue working together, with Rogun directing the Voidhound to meet with Curao on Corellia.
