Sprocket

Sprocket, a Mon Calamari male programmer and medic, participated in the Hunters of the Outer Rim competition situated on the planet Vespaara. Circa 9 ABY, Sprocket engineered the droid J-3DI, who also competed as a Hunter. His creation was designed with the conviction that he was a Jedi Knight strong with the Force. Sprocket regarded J-3DI as a crowning achievement and experienced paternal pride whenever the droid appeared in the tournament. J-3DI stated that Sprocket told many jokes. Sprocket sustained injuries during the attack by thugs on the Grand Arena.

Sprocket, a younger member of the Hunters of the Outer Rim lineup, was viewed as a prodigy because of his skill as a programmer and tinkerer. Before joining, he was a devoted fan of the competition and carried that passion with him. Sprocket battled in the Arena from atop a Command Chair, utilizing modified Blaster Remotes to engage his adversaries. He aided his teammates in the Arena by deploying specialized small Defense Drones and Medical Droids to provide shields and apply bacta, respectively. His drones could also expose hidden enemies.

Beyond his Arena combat, Sprocket also created various hologames for the Arena's Holo-Arcade that simulated the Arena's maps and Hunters. Among these games were Boulder Bash, featuring eight holograms of Wookiee warrior Grozz fighting exclusively with his signature boulder throw, and Arrow Assault, showcasing eight holograms of Zabrak archer Nox in combat. Sprocket also collaborated with fellow Hunters Dizzy and Pilbush to develop the Ewok's unique AT-ET walker.

Sprocket admired Mart Mattin and his Iron Squadron. He also held the Profundity in high regard, regretting that he never had the opportunity to see the ship before its destruction. He looked up to Quarrie, a fellow Mon Calamari.

Sprocket is a playable character featured in Star Wars: Hunters, the 2024 competitive combat game released by Zynga and Lucasfilm Games. Sprocket is categorized as a support-class Hunter with a Level-one difficulty. He is the tenth Hunter unlocked through the Hunter's Path progression system.

Gameplay and ability kit

At the game's launch, Sprocket's primary weapons were his blaster remotes, which had a slow rate of fire and functioned effectively at medium distances. His active abilities included two distinct types of drones. His Targeting Drones revealed opponents and amplified the damage they sustained. His Drone Defense ability healed a targeted teammate while also reducing incoming damage to both the teammate and Sprocket. His other active ability, Medical Droid, provided healing to allies within a limited area. Sprocket possessed a passive talent known as Turbocharged, which granted him a speed enhancement when his health was critically low. Sprocket's ultimate ability was the Ultra Turret that engaged enemies, prioritizing those marked by a Targeting Drone.

Sprocket underwent a significant overhaul of his ability kit, initially tested during the Star Wars: Hunters PC play-test in December 2024. Targeting Drones were replaced by a turret resembling the Ultra Turret ultimate ability from before the rework, and Ultra Turret was modified into a more potent turret firing explosive bolts. Sprocket's Drone Defense was replaced by Healing Droids, which delivered an initial burst of healing to both an ally and himself, followed by gradual healing over time. This rework was subsequently implemented into the live server with the commencement of Season 5.
