The comic tale "IG-88 vs. the Gatto Gang," a part of the Tales from Wild Space series, was included as the second story in Star Wars Adventures (2017) issue 9, which was released on April 18, 2018.
On a small planetoid located in Wild Space, Emil Graf, along with CR-8R, known as "Crater," and BB-00, nicknamed "Boo," were struggling to remove mynocks from their starship, called the Star Herald. Crater suggested Graf adopt a gentler strategy for dealing with the mynocks. Graf was confused, so Crater offered an explanation through a story.
Years prior, the assassin droid, IG-88B, had been assigned to capture the Gatto Gang, who were heavily indebted to the Black Sun. As IG-88 moved through a marketplace, the gang spotted him and scattered. Moggee, one of the gang members, attempted to flee. He tried to use three Energy binders to electrocute IG-88. However, IG-88 anticipated this, pulled the lever himself, and Moggee was electrocuted instead.
Another member of the gang, Ziggee, ran across rooftops, taunting IG-88. Ziggee tried to jump across to another building but crashed into a billboard directly in front of IG-88.
The last gang member, Sylvestarr, dashed into a store and grabbed a jetpack along with a helmet. However, the jetpack immediately flew off without him, leaving Sylvestarr on the ground. IG-88 then appeared with the captured gang members, and they all departed together.
Returning to the Star Herald, Emil Graf successfully managed to catch all of the mynocks, having followed Crater's advice to be patient and avoid rushing.
