Scout, whose full name was Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy, was a female Human Padawan of the Jedi order, gifted with the Force. During the Clone Wars, she held the rank of Commander within the Galactic Republic's Grand Army, serving the Jedi Order.
Born on Vorzyd V to impoverished parents residing in the slums, Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy was a young Human with sensitivity to the Force. A Jedi Order recruiter happened to visit the planet's spaceports, and her family pleaded with them to take their daughter to be trained within the Order. Enwandung-Esterhazy was handed over to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where she joined the Temple's academy and started her training in the ways of the Force. Although she was determined and hardworking, Enwandung-Esterhazy's connection to the Force was not particularly strong. Many instructors believed she would not succeed in the Trials of Knighthood, expecting her to end up in the Jedi Service Corps. She earned the moniker "Scout" because of her talent for quickly assessing situations using the Force. To make up for her struggles with Force-related exercises, Enwandung-Esterhazy concentrated on improving her physical skills.
Towards the end of the Separatist Crisis, Master Chankar Kim chose Enwandung-Esterhazy as her apprentice, which surprised many at the academy. Under Master Kim's guidance, Enwandung-Esterhazy built a sky-blue lightsaber and refined her skills in various unconventional tactics. When the Clone Wars broke out between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Master Kim accompanied Master Mace Windu on a crucial rescue mission to Geonosis, where she died during the subsequent battle. The news of her master's passing devastated Enwandung-Esterhazy, who was certain that the Council of Reassignment would assign her to the Agricultural Corps. Master Jai Maruk supported this move, expressing his opinion to Grand Master Yoda after she had been waiting at the Temple for two years. Yoda disagreed, betting Maruk that Enwandung-Esterhazy would win the annual Jedi Temple Apprentice Tournament. If she won, Maruk would have to take her as his Padawan. Maruk accepted, and was astonished when Enwandung-Esterhazy survived all eight rounds and won the tournament using creative, non-Force methods. Reluctantly, Maruk took her as his Padawan, and she achieved the rank of Commander in the Grand Army of the Republic.

Early in the Clone Wars, the Jedi discovered that Count Dooku, the Confederacy's leader, had seized control of Château Malreaux on Vjun. Dooku contacted Master Yoda, claiming the war had spiraled out of control and that he was prepared to negotiate a truce. Master Yoda chose a small group of Jedi to accompany him to Vjun, including Masters Maruk and Maks Leem, along with their respective Padawans, Enwandung-Esterhazy and Whie Malreaux, who was native to Vjun.
On their way to Vjun, the Jedi stopped at Phindar Station, where they were ambushed by Sith assassin Asajj Ventress and a squad of assassin droids. During the ensuing fight, Masters Maruk and Leem engaged Ventress in a lightsaber duel, but she proved to be the superior combatant. Maruk nearly succumbed to the dark side, but Leem calmed him. Despite this, Maruk was slashed across the stomach, receiving a mortal wound, and Leem was stabbed in the back, resulting in her death. As Maruk lay dying, Enwandung-Esterhazy rushed to his side, pleading with him not to leave her. Maruk promised that he never would. Enwandung-Esterhazy had now lost two Masters to the Clone Wars, but the Jedi continued from the station to Vjun.
After landing, Master Yoda left the Padawans and began negotiations with Count Dooku. Meanwhile, the two Padawans investigated disturbances in the Force that Malreaux had sensed, leading them to encounter Ventress again. Both Padawans were quickly captured, and Ventress held Enwandung-Esterhazy in a Force-grip. Sensing Malreaux's feelings for Enwandung-Esterhazy, Ventress tried to lure him to the dark side by demanding he kiss his vulnerable companion. Holding Enwandung-Esterhazy's life in her hands, Ventress forced him to make a choice. Malreaux struggled with the decision, but Enwandung-Esterhazy managed to speak through Ventress' grip, assuring Malreaux that she knew he would make the right decision. Malreaux resisted Ventress' temptations, frustrating her. As Ventress prepared to order a group of assassin droids to kill the Padawans, Solis arrived and attacked Dooku's acolyte, allowing the two adolescents to escape. Soon after, Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker arrived to rescue Yoda and the Padawans, and Enwandung-Esterhazy returned with them to Coruscant.
Enwandung-Esterhazy remained at the Jedi Temple for the remainder of the war, and was present when Supreme Chancellor Palpatine betrayed the Order and issued Contingency Order 66 to the Grand Army, ordering them to kill the Jedi. She escaped the Temple as Darth Vader invaded with the 501st Legion, and was later found by Nyreen Vollen, who took her to Mandalore along with fellow Jedi Kina Ha. Upon arriving on Mandalore, her new guardian Kal Skirata was taken aback by her resemblance to the recently deceased Jedi Etain Tur-Mukan, which almost brought him to tears and made it difficult for him to maintain his composure. The strill Lord Mirdalan even mistook her for Tur-Mukan and became excited upon seeing her. Enwandung-Esterhazy lived in Kyrimorut and formed bonds with Mij Gilamar, who agreed to teach her first aid, and scientist Ovolot Qail Uthan, who made Enwandung-Esterhazy her assistant. When Skirata made an arrangement with fugitive Jedi Master Djinn Altis to take in the Jedi staying in Kyrimorut, Enwandung-Esterhazy decided to remain on Mandalore with Gilamar and Uthan, but refused to give up her identity as a Jedi.
Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy was a red-haired Human female with an athletic build, considered attractive by fellow Padawan Whie Malreaux, who developed a crush on her. Resembling Etain Tur-Mukan in both appearance and personality, Enwandung-Esterhazy was often insecure, but remained kind and strong, believing in hard work to overcome challenges. She quickly befriended others, including Padawan Ahsoka Tano, with whom she maintained a close friendship, receiving letters from Tano detailing her experiences during the war. She also grew close to Cuy'val Dar Sergeant Mij Gilamar and Doctor Ovolot Qail Uthan after the Order's disbandment, becoming like an adopted daughter to the pair. Despite her fugitive status and the Order's dissolution, she was not ready to become Mandalorian by adoption like former Jedi Bardan Jusik, remaining proud of her Jedi heritage and accomplishments.
Although Enwandung-Esterhazy's connection to the Force was somewhat weak, she compensated by wearing armor and mastering lightsaber combat and unarmed combat, as well as being willing to disregard proper rules of conduct. This trait could sometimes be detrimental, as it included practices impossible outside training, such as grabbing a training lightsaber blade. She was reportedly Master Ilena Xan's favorite student and possessed natural precognitive abilities, which manifested in her habit of quickly assessing situations and understanding them faster than others, earning her the nickname "Scout."
Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy was created for the 2004 novel Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, authored by Sean Stewart. Her first visual depiction appeared in the 2012 reference book The Essential Reader's Companion, which featured an artwork of her with blond hair, despite the text describing her hair as red.
