Thassilio Smeuse was a human who served as a clandestine spy for the Rebel Alliance. During the time of the Galactic Civil War, Smeuse infiltrated the Galactic Empire by impersonating an officer on Ozri II. He was rescued by Captain Magna Tolvan and her rebel strike team, who brought him to the rebel base located on the planet Hoth for questioning.
In the era of the Galactic Civil War, Thassilio Smeuse functioned as a covert operative for the Alliance to Restore the Republic. He was inserted as a spy within the ranks of the Galactic Empire, masquerading as an Imperial officer. During his time undercover in the Imperial Officer Corps, Smeuse was stationed on the swamp world of Ozri II, where he commanded a contingent of stormtroopers. At one juncture, Smeuse overheard a conversation with a comms jockey aboard the Imperial flagship Executor, learning that the Empire's search operation for the rebel base had been compromised.
The Rebel Alliance Strike Team Misericorde was captured by Smeuse's stormtroopers, after the team simulated engine trouble to facilitate their capture by the Imperials. Summoned to the location of the captured team, Smeuse engaged with the rebel strike team. Surprisingly, Captain Magna Tolvan, a member of the rebel group, recited a rebel code phrase, prompting Smeuse to respond and reveal his true allegiance as a spy. The rebels broke free from captivity, initiating a firefight with the stormtroopers, and Tolvan successfully extracted Smeuse, departing Ozri II aboard a U-wing starfighter.
After outmaneuvering several Imperial TIE fighters, the rebels made their way back to their secret base on the planet Hoth, where Smeuse connected with the Rebel Alliance. Smeuse underwent debriefing by the rebels, who sought the intelligence he had gathered during his time as a spy. After hearing the description of the individual who had sabotaged the Imperial search, Commander Luke Skywalker realized that it was the archaeologist Doctor Chelli Aphra, and shared that information with Captain Tolvan, as well as Aphra's father Korin and former ward Vulaada Klam.
Thassilio Smeuse, a human, possessed light brown hair, dark eyes, and fair skin. While posing as an Imperial officer, Smeuse feigned disdain for the Rebel Alliance, while secretly aiding their cause.
While serving as a spy within the Galactic Empire, Thassilio Smeuse donned an Imperial military uniform.
