Tsw'ells

Tsw'ells, colossal beings with tentacles, existed within the seas of the planet known as Luprora. During Captain Phasma's pursuit in the hunt of Lieutenant Sol Rivas, she came across several tsw'ells. She killed one utilizing her knife, and later, she used electricity to eliminate numerous others during an attack on the R'ora stronghold.

Biology and appearance

These tsw'ells were enormous, tentacled monsters characterized by their pink skin, a multitude of tentacles, pointed teeth, and a pair of eyes. They were predators of humanoids, notably the immigrant Lupr'or. Additionally, their blood was green.

History

The tsw'ells were native inhabitants of the oceans found on the world of Luprora. As the ocean's water levels rose, the tsw'ells ventured inland, causing significant harm to the immigrant Lupr'or by harassing and killing many of their fishermen. The Lupr'or considered the tsw'ells to be powerful monsters. In 34 ABY, when Captain Phasma and TN-3465 journeyed to Luprora to hunt Lieutenant Sol Rivas, they were set upon by a tsw'ells. In the ensuing brief encounter, Phasma managed to slay the creature with a knife, thereby gaining the respect of the Lupr'or.

Tsw'ells being electrocuted

Furthermore, tsw'ells seemed to have a symbiotic bond with the R'ora, an aquatic species indigenous to Luprora. Several of these creatures acted as guards for a R'ora stronghold situated on an island within a lake near a village inhabited by the Lupr'or. Under Phasma's command, the Lupr'or utilized generators salvaged from a derelict starship to electrocute the tsw'ells in the lake, resulting in their demise. This allowed the Lupr'or to overwhelm the R'ora stronghold, which gave her the opportunity to eliminate Rivas in order to keep her involvement in the destruction of Starkiller Base a secret.

Behind the scenes

The tsw'ells made their initial appearance in Star Wars: Captain Phasma, a four-part comic series from 2017 released by Marvel Comics as a component of the Journey to Star Wars: The Last Jedi promotional campaign. Kelly Thompson conceived the species, Marco Checchetto provided the illustrations, and Andres Mossa handled the coloring.
