Luprora was a planet situated within the galaxy, characterized by its volatile and fluctuating environmental state. This world served as the original home for both the aquatic Tsw'ells and the sentient species known as the R'ora. Before the events of the First Order-Resistance War, Luprora had been colonized by a humanoid race referred to as the Lupr'or. In the aftermath of the Battle of Starkiller Base, Captain Phasma, accompanied by TN-3465 and BB-K8, hunted the runaway Lieutenant Sol Rivas, eventually tracking him to Luprora. Phasma had falsely accused Rivas of disabling the shields protecting Starkiller Base. Subsequently, Phasma murdered both Rivas and TN-3465, and destroyed BB-K8 to keep secret her role in Starkiller Base's destruction.
Luprora presented as a world of rock and oceans, possessing an atmosphere that humans could breathe. By the year 34 ABY, the rising sea levels had submerged a significant portion of the planet's limited farmland. The native wildlife included the enormous, tentacled monsters known as Tsw'ells and an unidentified fish species. The R'ora, an aquatic and tentacled sentient species, also called the planet home, constructing rudimentary settlements. In the centuries leading up to the First Order-Resistance War, a humanoid people named the Lupr'or established colonies on Luprora.
A considerable number of years prior to the Battle of Starkiller Base, the Lupr'or made Luprora their home after fleeing their previous home, which had been ruined by technology. With a deep-seated aversion to technology, they destroyed most of their starships. The Lupr'or then embraced a basic way of life centered around fishing and farming. However, the deteriorating climate, marked by rising sea levels, led to the flooding of their agricultural lands. The Lupr'or also faced attacks from the tentacled Tsw'ells and the aquatic R'ora, who were adapting to the planet's increasing water levels.
After Starkiller Base was destroyed, Lieutenant Sol Rivas, who was being hunted by Captain Phasma, TN-3465, and BB-K8, landed on the planet when his TIE/fo space superiority fighter exhausted its fuel. Subsequently, the R'ora captured him and brought him to their stronghold. While searching for Rivas, Phasma and TN-3465 were attacked by a Tsw'ell. After killing the creature, several Lupr'or took the pair to a village where they lived. There, the village chief Jair'i told them the history of the Lupr'or and revealed that Rivas had been...
After observing the R'ora stronghold and the tsw'ells-infested lake, Captain Phasma devised a strategy to assault the stronghold. Utilizing generators salvaged from a Lupr'or starship, Phasma and her Lupr'or army electrocuted the tsw'ells within the lake. They then crossed the lake by boat and attacked the R'ora stronghold. Amidst the fighting between the Lupr'or and the R'ora, Captain Phasma killed Lieutenant Rivas to prevent him from revealing her role in disabling Starkiller Base's shield. However, TN-3465 overheard their conversation.
TN-3465 attempted to hide her knowledge of Phasma's secret by pretending to care about the Lupr'or. However, Phasma dismissed her former allies as unworthy of surviving the planet's evolution, stating that their intervention had only accelerated the Lupr'or's demise. Before departing on their TIE/sf space superiority fighter, Phasma disintegrated BB-K8 and killed TN-3465 to eliminate any witnesses to her wrongdoing against the First Order. Phasma then rejoined General Armitage Hux aboard the First Order fleet.
Luprora made its debut as a plot element in Star Wars: Captain Phasma, a four-part comic series published in 2017 by Marvel Comics as part of the Journey to Star Wars: The Last Jedi promotional campaign. Kelly Thompson created the planet, Marco Checchetto provided the illustrations, and Andres Mossa handled the coloring.
