Lupr'or Village

The Lupr'or Village existed upon the surface of the planet called Luprora. This settlement served as the home for the Lupr'or species, and by the year 34 ABY it was the only Lupr'or settlement remaining on the entire planet.

Description

The architectural design of the Lupr'or Village included several structures that were cylindrical, one that resembled a beehive, and a sizable rectangular building. The village was constructed on elevated, rocky terrain, situated near a lake that was inhabited by both Tsw'ells and the R'ora's island stronghold. The majority of the buildings seemed to be constructed from wood. Some of the village's more prominent inhabitants included Jair'i, who was the leader of the Lupr'or, the guide named Dar'en, Ali'ane, and Ali'ane's great granddaughter.

History

Due to the rising sea levels and the dangers posed by the Tsw'ells and R'ora, the Lupr'or colonists were compelled to relocate to higher ground, resulting in the Lupr'or Village becoming the last Lupr'or settlement on Luprora. During 34 ABY, Captain Phasma, along with TN-3465, a First Order TIE fighter pilot, and the droid BB-K8, made a visit to the village while engaged in the hunt for Lieutenant Sol Rivas. Phasma had falsely accused Rivas of destroying Starkiller Base. Jair'i welcomed them and provided an account of his people's history. He also told the visitors from off-world that the R'ora had taken Rivas to their island fortress.

After observing the lake surrounding the R'ora's stronghold, Phasma went back to the village and noticed a young girl wearing a necklace. Phasma inquired about the necklace, leading to an introduction to the girl's great grandmother, Ali'ane, who was the oldest Lupr'or alive and had once lived among the stars. Ali'ane revealed that the necklace originated from the "old world", but she refused to disclose the location of any more. Her great granddaughter, convinced that Phasma was sent by the gods to fight the Tsw'ells and the R'ora, offered to lead Phasma to the last remaining Lupr'or ship.

TN-3465 returned to the Lupr'or village and attempted to persuade Dar'en to gather everyone. However, BB-K8 misinterpreted the message, translating it as only the men. Despite this minor communication error, Captain Phasma successfully impressed the villagers by donning her armor and brandishing her blaster rifle. Phasma then gave a speech, encouraging the Lupr'or to fight for their survival against the R'ora, using any available means, including technology. Under Phasma's command, the Lupr'or employed generators to electrify the Tsw'ells in the lake, which then allowed Phasma, TN-3465, and the Lupr'or to cross the lake by boat and launch an assault on the R'ora stronghold.

Following the elimination of Rivas, carried out to conceal her involvement in the destruction of Starkiller Base, Phasma abandoned the Lupr'or to face the R'ora and the encroaching sea levels.

Behind the scenes

The Lupr'or Village was first presented as a setting within the plot of Star Wars: Captain Phasma, a four-part comic book series published in 2017 by Marvel Comics as part of the Journey to Star Wars: The Last Jedi promotional campaign. Kelly Thompson created the village, Marco Checchetto provided the illustrations, and Andres Mossa was responsible for the coloring.
