In the year 9 BBY, he notified the Sith Lord about the arrival of the Inquisitor known as the Third Sister, prior to affixing her new Grand Inquisitor rank insignia following her promotion. Subsequently, at the request of his commanding officer, the captain charted a course toward the planet of Jabiim. Upon reaching Jabiim, the captain provided an update on the successful assault against Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and his allies. Lord Vader then gave the captain instructions to issue the order to cease the attack, as he believed their target was already within their grasp. After the Path's successful escape, the captain remained in the presence of his superior and the Grand Inquisitor as they continued their pursuit of Kawlan Roken's freighter. Later, he executed Lord Vader's directive to exclusively track the pod piloted by Kenobi.
By the time period of 9 BBY, this male Imperial officer held the position of naval captain on the Devastator, which was an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer and served as the flagship for the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader. During that year, the Inquisitor identified as the Third Sister was summoned aboard the Devastator to give a report about her pursuit of the fugitive Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi. The captain proceeded to the bridge of the Devastator to speak with the Dark Lord, standing at attention as he informed his superior about the Inquisitor's arrival.
The captain of the Devastator stepped aside as the Third Sister approached the Dark Lord. He then stood at attention behind the Inquisitor as she informed their superior that Kenobi had gone to the planet of Jabiim. Pleased by this information, the cyborg instructed her to kneel and bestowed upon her the rank of Grand Inquisitor. The captain then approached and attached a rank plaque to her uniform. Subsequently, Lord Vader commanded the captain to immediately set a course for Jabiim.
The Devastator traveled to Jabiim, where the Dark Lord dispatched a force of stormtroopers and two [purge troopers](/article/purge_trooper], all under the command of the newly appointed Grand Inquisitor, the Third Sister. The Inquisitor led these forces in an attack against a base operated by an anti-Imperial organization known as the "Hidden Path," which was providing assistance to Kenobi and a number of refugees. As the Third Sister's forces breached the base and began their assault, the captain of the Devastator updated his superior on their progress. Vader then instructed the captain to order the Inquisitor to cease the attack, asserting that Kenobi was already within their reach.
Following the escape of the Path, the Devastator maintained its pursuit of the insurgents. Throughout the ongoing chase, the captain remained alongside Lord Vader and the Grand Inquisitor on the bridge. When a pod was launched from Kawlan Roken's freighter, he informed his superior, specifying that it contained only one life form: the fugitive Jedi Master. Despite the Grand Inquisitor's reservations, Lord Vader instructed the captain to discontinue the pursuit of the freighter and instead focus on tracking Kenobi.

The captain of the Devastator was a human male, characterized by his light complexion and brown hair. He initially held reservations about his superior's decision to call off their forces on Jabiim.
