Unidentified Gran trader

A male merchant of the Gran gender was a resident of Pantora, a moon, at the dawn of the Imperial Era. Hunter and Echo, fugitive clones, paid a visit to his shop with the intention of trading items for credits; however, the merchant displayed no interest in the pyro denton explosive that Hunter presented. The trader, in a case of mistaken identity, believed Echo, a cyborg with a scomp link arm, to be a droid and offered 2,000 credits for him. After a discussion with Echo, Hunter, driven by their dire need for funds, accepted the offer, instructing Echo to leave and return to the spaceport when their unit was prepared for departure. Hunter then convinced the merchant to increase his payment to 3,000 for the "droid" before departing. Subsequently, the trader assigned Echo the responsibility of overseeing his droids. When Echo eventually departed, taking the droids to repair their team's starship, the merchant was taken aback, but Echo retorted that he had obtained a great deal.

Biography

The trader ran his shop within the central marketplace located in Ro Station on Pantora. He was the owner of several droids confined to the back room of his shop using restraining bolts. Among them were the protocol droid CG-67, tasked with supervising the astromech droids 225 and DK-3, and the LE-series droid named Clink. Shortly following the formation of the Galactic Empire, the shop was visited by the fugitive clones Hunter, Echo, and Omega. Hunter attempted to sell the merchant a pyro denton explosive, but the trader declined the transaction. Hunter argued that the explosive was worth at least 1,800 credits, but the merchant suggested that he try the black market, saying that he was trying to run a legitimate business. During the negotiations, Omega was looking at some dolls on display and accidentally knocked the container holding them to the floor, leading the trader to reprimand her and state that she would have to buy anything she broke. She returned one doll and took the other to show Echo, who adjusted the toy while she was holding it.

Echo, being a fugitive clone trooper and a cyborg with noticeable cybernetics, had disguised himself before entering the city, concealing all of his organic body parts with a mask. Consequently, the trader mistook him for a droid and offered Hunter 2,000 credits to purchase him. Hunter, in desperate need of funds, considered the offer, informing the trader that Echo was a military prototype, while his comrade was surprised to be mistaken for a droid. Echo was skeptical when he realized Hunter was considering the deal, but Hunter convinced him to cooperate because they needed the credits, telling him he would contact him when their group was ready to leave so he could go. Reluctantly, Echo agreed, but told Hunter to ask for more since he believed he was worth more than 2,000. Hunter countered with an offer of 4,000, and they eventually agreed on 3,000. While the trader was examining the "droid" he had just bought, Omega wandered off into the marketplace and became lost.

With the deal finalized, the trader led Echo to his back room while Hunter told the "droid" to go along. Hunter then noticed that Omega had gone missing and began searching for her, while the trader placed a restraining bolt on Echo and tasked the "droid" with supervision, hoping to bring order to his back room. Once alone, Echo removed his mask and was greeted by CG-67, but he used his blaster pistol to intimidate her into silence before she could report the deception. Hunter became involved in a fight with Fennec Shand, a bounty hunter hired to capture Omega. After initially losing both Shand and Omega, he contacted his team to inform them of the situation. Upon learning that the team's starship required a team of repair droids for a quick repair, Echo recruited the merchant's droids, removing their restraining bolts using his scomp link arm. Echo then led the droids out of the back room towards the hangar, casually handing the trader the removed bolts as he passed. The merchant was shocked to discover that Echo was not a droid, and Echo responded that the merchant had gotten a bargain before departing. After the repairs were completed, Echo entrusted the astromechs and Clink to CG-67's care, and they returned to the city.

Personality and traits

The trader was a Gran male, characterized by light brown skin and brown eyes. His right eye was blind. The trader had a tendency to make those who damaged his goods pay for the damages. He showed a lack of interest in explosives, unwilling to spend almost 2,000 credits on the explosive charge Hunter offered. The trader also felt CG-67's supervisory skills were inadequate, and he saw the purchase of what he thought was a supervisor droid as a way to improve the organization of his back room. He did not realize that the cyborg Echo was not a droid until he saw him without his mask.

Equipment

The trader was dressed in a pink-and-yellow tunic with a brown bandolier, along with a snug brown-and-yellow hat. He wore green goggles over his two sighted eyes, connected to his hat by a silver chain.
