Yalbec Prime was a world situated within the Outer Rim Territories. During the Clone Wars, the Republic's Clone Force 99, an exceptional squad of clone troopers, received orders to quell an insurrection taking place on Yalbec Prime. However, their mission was complicated when Wrecker, a member of the group, severed the stinger belonging to a Yalbec queen. Subsequently, numerous male Yalbec attempted to reproduce with them, but the team ultimately succeeded in escaping Yalbec Prime and journeying to the planet Anaxes for their subsequent mission.
During the Imperial Era, Sorc Tormo, a crime boss affiliated with the Haxion Brood, used the expression "uglier than mating season on Yalbec Prime" while providing commentary on fights occurring in his fighting pit located on Ordo Eris, the asteroid fortress of the Haxion Brood.
The initial mention of Yalbec Prime occurred in "The Bad Batch," which served as the premiere episode of the seventh season of the animated television show Star Wars: The Clone Wars. This episode was broadcast on Disney+ on February 21, 2020. It was originally presented as an incomplete story reel at Celebration Anaheim on April 17, 2015. Later, it was available on StarWars.com on April 29 as a component of The Clone Wars Legacy multimedia project.
The spelling of the name of the species was verified in the 2019 video game titled Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
