Zanbar, situated in the Outer Rim Territories, was a moon characterized by a temperate swamp environment and distinguished by expansive, rocky plateaus. During the Clone Wars, Death Watch, a dissident Mandalorian faction, established a temporary camp on Zanbar's surface. Following Death Watch's alliance with Maul to create the Shadow Collective, this camp continued in its use. Subsequently, Zanbar became the location for a battle fought between the Shadow Collective and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

This moon, found within the Outer Rim Territories, possessed a temperate climate and displayed a landscape featuring swampy vegetation interspersed with prominent, layered rock formations. Zanbar was home to anoobas, aggressive creatures known for their powerful jaws, sharp teeth, distinctive growls, and thick fur along their backs, which were also found throughout the Outer Rim Territories. It also housed momongs, diminutive six-limbed carnivorous primates also native to the planet Trandosha and its moon, Wasskah.
Zanbar was initially seen in "Eminence", the fourteenth episode within the fifth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which was released on January 19, 2013. While the official Star Wars databank identifies Zanbar as a moon, the 2014 comic book Darth Maul—Son of Dathomir 1 refers to it as a planet.
