Jar-Jar unintentionally interfered with Mack during the pirate attack

In 21 BBY, Mack and another clone pilot piloted a Nu-class attack/transport shuttle that carried the Republic Senator Kharrus and Junior Representative Jar Jar Binks on a diplomatic mission to Florrum to negotiate a ransom for the Separatist leader Count Dooku as well as the Jedi Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi from a gang of pirates. Dooku had previously been captured by Hondo Ohnaka's gang and held for a ransom for the Republic, as he was a target of high value to them, and the two Jedi had been captured attempting to retrieve him.

As they entered Florrum's atmosphere, the shuttle Mack was piloting was attacked by a group of rogue pirates, led by Turk Falso, in a Flarestar-class attack shuttle. As the pirate vessel opened fire, Mack's co-pilot engaged in evasive maneuvers. When the pirate fired a pair of missiles, Mack directed his co-pilot to bank left. As the ship attempted to evade, Representative Binks, who had clumsily been unable to secure himself in the hold and was stumbling around the ship, activated the mechanism that brought Mack's seat down and out of the cockpit. A bewildered Mack watched as Binks clambered over him in an attempt to send Mack back into the cockpit, but only succeeded in bringing up the chair with both of them in it. Meanwhile, the ship was hit by the missiles and began to go down.

Mack and his co-pilot were killed in the crash-landing

After Binks managed to get back to the hold, Mack and his co-pilot were forced to crash-land in the Doshar fields. The impact killed Mack, the co-pilot, and Senator Kharrus. As the survivors of the crash regrouped, a clone trooper discovered Mack's body as well as his co-pilot's, alerting Clone Commander Stone that they had perished. The survivors continued their mission, led by Representative Binks, who was technically the highest-ranking survivor, progressing towards Ohnaka's base to negotiate.
