A conflict erupted in 22 BBY, pitting the combined might of the Lok Revenants and the Mere Resistance, under the leadership of Nym, against the Trade Federation in league with Sabaoth Squadron. The objective was to recapture Nym's pirate haven situated on the planet Lok. This engagement unfolded in two distinct phases: one in the orbit of the moon Khons, and the other on the planet's surface, occurring a decade following the Federation's seizure of the base.
The Second Battle of Lok unfolded between the allied forces of the Lok Revenants and the Mere Resistance during 22 BBY. Following the retrieval of components for an Orbital Defense Cannon aboard the Tritus after the Battle of Nod Kartha, Nym's forces embarked on a mission to install the Cannon on Khons. This was intended to aid in the reclamation of Nym's Base, which had been lost ten years prior. While en route to Khons, the Mere cruiser Tritus experienced an engine malfunction. Captain Juno offloaded the Cannon components onto Mere Tugs and initiated a hyperspace jump. The group's initial goal was to establish a secure position and deploy the Cannon to support the ground assault.

Upon emergence from hyperspace, Nym instructed his aviators to neutralize the anti-capital ship batteries, clearing a path for Juno and his tugs. Subsequently, Nym received a communication from Kole, relaying that several of their fighters had prematurely exited hyperspace, leaving them with only two remaining. Despite this setback, Nym successfully eliminated the turrets before they could target the tugs.
The combat then shifted to the moon's planetary side. The Trade Federation maintained a refueling depot, where four Missile Frigates were stationed. Juno kept the tugs at a safe distance while Nym secured a landing zone for the Cannon's assembly. With the frigates destroyed, Kole touched down to oversee the Cannon's construction. As the Cannon neared completion, successive waves of droid bombers approached to bombard it.
While Nym and his allies defended the Cannon against the bombers, a Trade Federation Cruiser unexpectedly arrived. The cruiser advanced towards the moon and, upon reaching firing range, unleashed volleys of cruise missiles at the Orbital Cannon. Undeterred, Nym allowed the cruiser to approach closer, ensuring it would fall within the Cannon's range. Kole then attempted to activate the Cannon, inadvertently damaging its targeting systems. However, Kole managed to reroute the system through the targeting systems on Nym's Havoc. Meanwhile, the cruiser readied its weapon systems to launch a final missile barrage. Nym locked onto the cruiser, and Kole fired the Cannon, disabling the cruiser's shields. After recharging, the Cannon fired again, obliterating the cruiser.
The pirate fighters descended to the planet's surface, where they encountered formations of tanks and squadrons of Vulture droid starfighters. Three Mere troop carriers maintained a high orbit while the fighters eliminated the tanks and Trade Federation Missile Frigates undergoing refueling on the ground. Once these threats were neutralized, the transports moved in, shielded by the Mere starfighters. The remaining Vulture droids converged on the ships, resulting in intense aerial combat.
The transports, landing within a crater, deployed speeder bikes led by Sol Sixxa to breach the base's entrance. After the door was destroyed, Nym flew in and destroyed the docks for the frigates inside it. Lieutenant Bella then emerged to engage the Resistance in her personal ship but was killed by Nym. The Lok Revenants had finally reclaimed their base, although it was significantly altered.
With the planet secured, the pirates were now able to support their allies engaged in combat on Geonosis. Their vessels arrived just in time to join forces with Jedi Master Adi Gallia and eliminate the remaining elements of Sabaoth Squadron.
This article is based upon two missions featured in the 2002 video game Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter. The first is the mission entitled "Cannon Fodder." The mission's bonus objectives task the player with destroying all the turrets on the moon and ensuring the survival of all the Mere Tugs. The second is the mission entitled "Heart of the Storm."
