Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, a skirmish between the forces of the Crimson Dawn criminal syndicate and the group known as the Revengers and the forces of the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader took place on the Outer Rim Territories planet Calior. After Crimson Dawn Chief Regional Auditor Cygnus Anton attempted to claim Calior's southern water works for the Empire, the Revengers, led by Ankala Sahm, attacked the avian's forces.
Sahm used a flamethrower to burn Anton; however, the Crimson Dawn member had not been burned, instead, Sahm had burned a hologram of the avian, who was aboard an All Terrain Scout Transport. Soon after, Vader's crew of mercenaries sieged Anton's forces. Vader, who was on a quest to destroy Crimson Dawn, then destroyed the Chief Regional Auditor's transport, killing them.
Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, the avian Cygnus Anton, a member of the Crimson Dawn criminal syndicate and Chief Regional Auditor of the Galactic Empire, visited the Outer Rim Territories planet Calior in an attempt to claim the world's southern water works for the Empire. On the surface, a hologram of Anton was escorted by several stormtroopers and Crimson Dawn guards, which landed on the planet aboard a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle, while the Chief Regional Auditor remained aboard one of their two All Terrain Scout Transports "AT-STs." The local human Carrax was alarmed by the presence of the Crimson Dawn troops, and Anton's forces killed Carrax to get the attention of a crowd that had formed after the newcomers' arrival.
The Chief Regional Auditor subsequently shared their two demands: the southern water works and that the people of Calior paid a monthly tribute of 5,000 credits if they desired to have continued access to the facility. Anton was then interrupted by a group of warriors known as the Revengers, who attacked the avian's forces, as these included Crimson Dawn personnel. A stormtrooper reminded Anton that they had warned them about bringing Crimson Dawn forces into the open, which would prompt the Revengers to come, and Anton explained that that was the reason why they had done so. The Revengers then destroyed the Lambda shuttle, which exploded.
The Revengers—including Ankala Sahm, S'ira, and Tanka—charged while using a personal deflector shield to defend themselves from the Crimson Dawn guard and the stormtroopers' laser fire. Sahm used a flamethrower to burn Anton's hologram, prompting the Chief Regional Auditor to mock her and attack with their AT-ST.
Realizing that Anton's forces had trapped them, S'ira believed that their attack on Anton could be their last conflict with Crimson Dawn, and Sahm commanded the Revengers to concentrate their fire on the avian commander's transport. Before their efforts began, however, three assassins—Chilla Zin, Loriach, and Ochi of Bestoon, servants of the Imperial Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader—helped destroy one of the AT-STs before retreating behind a rock. Vader himself then destroyed the two scout transports with his TIE Advanced as Anton claimed they could explain.
After defeating Anton, Vader's crew and the Revengers ate some food. Ochi informed Vader that he now had a group of expendable troops to use before sending his true assassins, prompting the Sith Lord to reveal that all those present were "expendable in the name of order." Shortly after, Vader sent the Revengers and his assassins to the Outer Rim astronomical object Laecor, where the group was to undertake a mission that was likely to result in their deaths. Tanka stated that the Sith had saved Calior's people and saved them from Anton's forces, prompting bounty hunter Beilert Valance to tell them that Vader was using them for the Empire's gain, and that he was not destroying Crimson Dawn for them.
The skirmish appeared in the eighteenth issue of the Star Wars: Darth Vader comic series, which was published by Marvel Comics on December 1, 2021. The issue was written by Greg Pak and illustrated by Leonard Kirk.
